Where to open a new LHBS

Yep! That's exactly what we're looking for. Looking for places with a decent brewing community but no LHBS support. Here's some of the areas we've looked in some detail. Stillwater, OK Lawton, OK OKC, (Edmond) OK Abline, TX (also Lubbock and Amarilla) San Antonio, TX...

Where to open a new LHBS

The wife will be retiring in less than a year. One of the options we are considering is opening a Brew Store. We have several different places we have concidered going. We are looking for a place where there is a good homebrew community but not a decent HBS in the area. If you could...

    Who's smoking meat this weekend?

Ribs is the only thing I'm smokin' this weekend. But steaks, bugers, and brats (among other animal parts) will be sure to find their way to the grill. Four of my neighbors and myself are beer lovin', smokin', meat eaters. There 5 backyard BBQ's between us this weekend including an...

How much should I worry about water chemestry?

Hardness from 50 to 150 ppm (your water based on that report) is good for most ales. If you want to duplicate water from different areas you will need more info. The links above list some good sources for testing.

How much should I worry about water chemestry?

For the most part if the water taste good, it will make good beer. If you mash then Ph comes in to the picture. Only if your water is very hard or very soft do you really need to worry even then. Basically don't need worry about the water chemistry until you understand the AG brewing...

    Sanitizing Solution with Tapwater?

You would have to have such hard that it would be unusable for anything before it would not work fine for Star San. Star San is such a strong acid in its consentrated form that it will etch glass. Don't worry.

    Idiot beer snobs-

Fortune cookies are just cheap American waffles wrapped around a pointless proverb to make the uneducated American Orinental restaurant goer buy more often. I think such cheep market tricks are just scam. We should aviod all Orinental food stores and restuarants just to prove our point...

    Idiot beer snobs-

I've found that if we will just go through life being ourselves the we will leave a big enough wake that anyone who wants to follow easily can. We don't have to make waves to get their attention.

    Idiot beer snobs-

I have a neighbor that buys Busch Lite all the time. He likes it. He also loves my beer. He even wants to look into brewing. All the while he still walks around with a Busch Lite in his hand. Is he wrong for that? Has he "done been ejamacated" now that he has had homebrew and craft beers...

Here's to 235 years of freedom!

Here's hoping your 4th of July weekend is safe and happy. Here's to friends and family. Here's to a good brew. But most of all here's to the freedoms this land gives us to enjoy life and to those that have made and are making that possible. May we pass these freedoms and this country...
