    Batch Sparging with a pump

I just upgraded my batch sparse system to include a pump. I plan on brewing next weekend and would like to know how much temp I'm going to loose to hose and pump. I'm sure there is no way to know 100% until I experiment but I am curious if others can shed some light.

Hauling my brew in the primary

My buddy and I have been brewing at his house. He is now moving for school. We have two beers in the primary currently. I'm moving the setup to my house and was wondering if ill have any problems moving in the primary. I've never moved my beer more than a few feet to keg. I'm sure it will slosh...

    Brewing a "traditional" IPA

Saturday I'm brewing a traditional IPA(Burton's best indian pale ale). I found the recipe in an old issue of BYO. Recipe is very straight forward, no trouble with that. However id like to age the beer for 5 months to recreate the boat voyage(if I can stand not to drink it). Should I bottle and...

    Keg c02 leak?

I was told by my local shop owner to charge the keg twice a day at 30psi for 3 days. His reasoning for disconnecting was that you can unknowingly damage that o ring on there and have all your c02 leak out over those three days. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Keg c02 leak?

So I'm new to kegging. Bought and filled my first pin lock keg yesterday. It's refurbished with all new orings. I charged the keg with 30 psi and when I removed the gas from the keg noticed there was a small amount of bubbling on the c02 nipple. Not sure if this is a slow leak or what. Sent...

    Low efficiency

I also sometimes get lost in the terminology. I was just trying to figure out why my efficiency was high but I missed my OG. Also to answer you question I could try tipping the kettle. I think before my next batch I will get a dip tube though. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Low efficiency

I use a bayou classic. That kettle holds a gallon of liquid before it even reaches the ball valve. When I did my water calculation I factored in a loss of a gallon not thinking I was leaving sugars in the bottom of my kettle. It all makes sense now. I wasn't seeing the obvious. The last two...
