    WTF am I doing wrong??!!!

Some look/feel done in 3-4 days (kveik voss). I haven't had any beer take longer than 7 days

    WTF am I doing wrong??!!!

No bottle yeast, but conditioning is fairly warm. Seems fine by me Conditioning is in a coolerbox to lessen temperature swings. Other than that, it depends on outside temperature as I got no heating and no aircon. Est temp 25-28 oC (77-80 F)

What ABV cider did I make ? By refractomer 7%, by weight of released CO2 estimate 11%

This is wrong. Common mistake, but refractometer readings need to be corrected in the presence of alcohol. You need to use another calculater: Refractometer Calculator - Brewer's Friend

    extension cord winding

I do/did that for my longer cables, except I just kept the lid of when using. Then someone sat on the bucket... I keep forgetting to buy a new one

    No-Chill Brewing?

I've put tea towels sprayed with starsan around the lid. Seemed better than nothing and saran wrap & me are not friends...

    WTF am I doing wrong??!!!

Interesting. I bottle pretty much like the OP, except I dose sugar per bottle, not a solution. Yes, more handling, but no splashing or dripping involved. Maybe something for OP to try (no cost involved ;) )

American Wheat Beer Hazy Cheapskate - Miraculix forbidden Ale

Lot of debris in the bottle But still a full glass and nice foam. Not that hazy, actually. A bit fruity, with just a hint of ginger. Actually a surprisingly nice summer beer (luckily I'm in the Southern hemisphere) It's carbonated for 6 days, and only one day in the fridge. And I will make...

    WTF am I doing wrong??!!!

Why? I can't really see a difference. Bottle is open and filled with air before filling either way. If you add sugar to each bottle, you don't have to stir the uncarbed beer. To me it sounds like 6 of the one or half a dozen of the other

    No-Chill Brewing?

I very much cool like @jtratcliff describes. Small batches, so easy to deal with. Found out with my first brew with current equipment that my immersion chiller is far to big for my pot. Interested in checking out this sanitary filter though

American Wheat Beer Hazy Cheapskate - Miraculix forbidden Ale

I'm sitting around that IBU figure, so real curious about the taste. Just a little longer to wait

American Wheat Beer Hazy Cheapskate - Miraculix forbidden Ale

Carbonation is coming on nicely. I figure another 2-3 days, then 2 in fridge and it's testing time ;) Yeast is starting to settle out nicely. Initial impression is that this beer is not gping to be much more hazy than some of my others

Sharing Nostalgia with the Beginners: What Was The First Beer Your Brewed?

Mine was a summer blond. Not that long ago. Maybe 4-5 years. I bought an all grain kit for 8 litres of beer and bucket, airlock etc. I made quite a mess of it and lots of mistakes but enjoyed it. It was like having 2 left hands ;) The result was very drinkable, although not very evenly carbed...

    Identifying cause of bad taste

I'm just wondering if other people taste the same off-flavour? Maybe you are extremely sensitive to something? It would be great if you can find experienced tasters. Otherwise I would suggest to maybe try a "simple" recipe, no dry hopping, or maybe even an extract kit, to assess if the same...

American Wheat Beer Hazy Cheapskate - Miraculix forbidden Ale

Thanks I thought you shouldn't fill them too full? I agree, one on the left could have been a little fuller, but one on the right seems pretty OK to me? Luckily it's a beer that's going to be carbonated and drunk quite fast

    BIAB recipe conversion?

I do the above, topping up during boil, but also later. Cool my wort down as much as possible, then top up to required OG with ice cold water (previously boiled).

    BIAB recipe conversion?

Not really related to your question, but somewhat... How are you going to remove the bag? It will be heavy! There is about 6 -6.5 kg grain plus all absorbed water to lift

    Should I bottle it?

I would probably have kept a bottle. Just for curiosity sake ;)
  18. Zambezi Special

    Should I bottle it?

Just wondering: You say you added yeast and apple juice and left it for a week. The yeast will have eaten all sugars again, so nothing left for carbonation, unless you used sugar at bottling?
