How late can you add yeast?

I would wait as long as the yeast gets shipped to me, hopefully by friday. Although at this point I think ive decided to put it aside for today, and work on my other project of freeing up a keg. Aeration seemed to raise the problem in my mind. I would imagine I would have to aerate the wort...

How late can you add yeast?

I was planning on brewing today and as I unpacked everything I realized I have no yeast :(. Can I get it brewed and sealed up today, and then add the yeast later this week when it comes in? Is there any reason the wort cannot sit sealed for a short period of time? Sean

Quick Question, Do you still add yeast if you plan on force carbonating in a keg?

Root Beer - I wanna bottle!

I am planning on doing a rootbeer with my nephew this weekend, and I really want to bottle it. Since I started kegging I now have lots of extra bottles and thought this would be a fun way to share. Ive read to avoid bottling because of exploding bottles, but wanted to see if anyone had a good...

    Transfering Lager Ques

I have it d-resting now and will probably be ready to transfer for lagering tonight/tomorrow. I was going to move it straight to keg to store in the back of my keggerator for a while. Do I need to chill both empty keg and lager before transferring? I read that a few places. Id rather...

    Lager not Fermenting?

Well I have a minor schedule change with my lager. I have family now visiting monday for the 4th of july week, and I have to move the 5 gallon carboy out of my bachelor-fridge and put the shelves back in. It has been in there for about a week, SG has not dropped too much from my OG. Option...

    Lager not Fermenting?

Is my final goal before removing from fridge to get to my FG? Will a d-rest take care of it if im not close? As far as the actual lagering can I keg it up and just leave it in the back of my kegerator? Do I need an airlock on it? Thanks for all the great info, this site is great! Sean

    Lager not Fermenting?

Ok, so nothing too strange seen? I realized my reading was a bit off, it was 1.04 @ 50 deg. I realized the temp difference and it had warmed up some. Its about 1.038. So there has been a little action in there :)

    Lager not Fermenting?

I brewed a lager last Saturday. The only cool place to put it was in my fridge turned all the way up. It is about 49/50 in there. I did not get much bubbly action, but some formation on the top. But nothing near any other brews I have done. I decided to take a gravity reading tonight and it...

    Transfering to new keg

Should I just beer thief it from to another, or transfer it using disconnects and some co2?

    Transfering to new keg

I got a great deal on 4 ball lock kegs last week. I brought them home, cleaned them up and am looking to get them going. I checked tonight and found out I can fit 3 of the 8 inch kegs in my little kegerator. I could only fit two pin locks, great news! I have a stout in a pin lock right...

    Kegging Temps

I am new to kegging and was wondering about temps. I have family visiting me at the beach late july for a week. I have already heard rumblings of them wanting to get a keg of B-Light in my kegerator for the week. Will it hurt one of my 5 gallon kegs if I remove it from the fridge for a week...

    50 Cent Beer Taps

I was bored and went to lowes to find something to make a custom tap out of. I found the wood insert nuts that fit the tap handles, some small furniture legs and some wood. Came home and did a horrible job cutting the legs or drilling a hole big enough for the insert nuts. (guess I need a...

Help! Need second tap on a 2.5" tower

I had the same problem and came up with a work-around last weekend. I wanted a second tap, but figured trying to squeeze another in was too much trouble. My 2.5" tower plastic adaptor would not fit the dual tap 3" tower I ordered. Instead of sending it back i wanted to make it work, at least...

    Pin Lock Pressure Ques

So hold button till all pressure is gone. Hook up, get my CO2 set to my chosen serving pressure and gas it on? My kegerator came with a sanke tap and I bought a normal keg just to try it out. Was easy to adjust that keg pressure with the valve. Ill give it a shot, but may look at a lid...

    Pin Lock Pressure Ques

I am getting ready to tap my first pin lock keg and have a pressure question. I know I have to hit the center on the gas tap to release the pressure, but how do I make sure I balance out the pressure in the keg correctly. I turn on my CO2, bring up the pressure, but then I have to remove...

Putting the tap on my new Tap-A-Draft

You unscrew it, swap it out and add the gas to the tap part. There is still lots of carbonation in the beer, so you are just losing the headspace. Be sure you unscrew the bottle standing up and slowly to release the gas that has built up already. I have had bottles over flow when opening to...

    Frosty Keg Tower

I recently picked up a Great Northern Frosty Keg Kegerator. I got a few pin lock kegs and have one getting ready now, so I have not gotten to play with the kegerator much. I can fit two kegs in the fridge and am thinking about converting or replacing the tower to handle two taps. It came with...
