Keezer Build Kenmore 8.8 cu ft

Just wanted to add a quick update to this since it's been slow going working on this. The keezer is working well, I've been pouring drafts out of picnic taps now for about a week. I've built a decorative base around the base to cover up the wood. I made it out of some pre-primed baseboard...

    2013 Hop garden photo thread

Never done hops before, so figured I'd try my hand at it when my LHBS had one rhizome left a few weeks ago. This is my Northern Brewer plant that I planted about 2 and a half weeks ago now, a little late maybe, but it's more for the experience. It's growing fast, only 2 sprouts above ground...

Keezer Build Kenmore 8.8 cu ft

Yes they are, I got them last year to put on a batch and gave them out at tailgates during football season. They came from bottlemark.com, you can upload any image you want and have them printed out on a batch of bottle caps, a little pricey, but cool idea as a novelty.

Keezer Build Kenmore 8.8 cu ft

So I got a system back during Christmas that included 4 ball lock kegs, CO2 tank, and all that, and I've gone this long without having a way of getting them cold and serving them... until now. A couple weeks ago I pulled the trigger and bought a black Kenmore 8.8 cu ft chest freezer from...
  6. Brought it down to temp and added some bottles and two kegs to keep the temp stable.
  7. Mounted and in position.
  8. Plugged into the STC1000 temp controller.
  9. Freezer next to it's rolling frame.

    Homemade hot sauce recipes

Garlic Four Pepper Hot Sauce: 7 fresh hananeros 2 fresh jalapenos 2 fresh seranos 1 fresh pablano 1/2 sweet onion 1 tomato 2 heads of roast garlic saute it all together (preferably outside, I don't want those fumes in the house), put it all in the food processor add about 1/2 cup of vinegar to...

    Brew Kettle Size

Hey everyone, Now that I just recently upgraded to kegging and all that, I'm looking to up my production. Right now, I'm doing simple extract or partial mash recipes using a 6 gallon pot where I never boil more than maybe 4 gallons at a time. I'm ready to start moving up and doing some AG...

Best way to clean a carboy

Rinse with hot water using one of them fancy bottle jet washer things, I hook it up to my sink, flip and hold the carboy upside down and let the jet do the work. Then if anythings left, let it soak with some bleach overnight and rinse again. Cheers

Homebrewing myths that need to die

Myth: if your beer looks funny while fermenting, it's infected and you should dump it immediately without tasting it. Myth: infected beer will kill you if you drink it

    Star-San vs. Iodophor - FIGHT!

I use both, it usually comes down to how I feel on a specific day. I like iodophor because I make up a solution on brew day and can spray down small pieces as I need to. Star san I like to use when I'm getting my carboys or kegs ready. I just don't know which I really prefer. They'e both...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Got a whole bunch of new gear for Christmas including kegs... so now I got to fill them! Been putting back more than a couple homebrews this evening. I think I'll throw a batch together tonight, we'll see how that goes!
