    Who brews all they drink? Who still buys beer?

    I just started brewing my own, but based on my current equipment limitations I'm guessing I will be at about 50/50 once I get the full batch rotation going. One day it will 99% my brew and the other 1% will be for when I go to a micro-brewery that I haven't been to before.

    Question about my first batch

    It really doesn't seem like a hoppy taste, I guess it does have a very faint sour taste to it which would kind of be like a green apple. Not really sure what a yeasty flavor would be, would it kind of be like a doughy taste to the beer?

    Anyone recommend "Homebrewing for Dummies?"

    I have homebrewing for dummies and how to brew. I think how to brew is definately a better book with a lot more detailed (and easier to understand) information. But if its free from the library I don't see why you wouldn't want to borrow it. I too have always like the layout of the dummy books.

    Question about my first batch

    Just tasted my first batch which is a Northern Brewer Irish Red Ale Extract Kit. There is what I think is definately the "green" taste to the beer. I let it sit in the primary for about a week, transfered it to the secondary for about two and a half weeks, kegged it, put about 20 PSI in it...
