I am brewing this first thing in the morning for the millionth time. While at the lhbs I decided to switch it up a bit and bought some sweet dried orange peel. Never used before and was hoping for any advice. I am doing a 10 gallon batch (biab). Thanks in advance, gonna be an early brew.
Buy/find an old keg. Can do most 10 gallon batches and also big 5's. I have a 3 gallon, 5 gallon, and a 10 gallon from going through stages. Got an old keg from a buddy and that's all I use now
Fresh pitch, haven't got into reusing yet. I always use uso5 for everything but it only happens in this. Wasn't sure if it was a blond thing. Comes out tasting great though. I usually wait 2 weeks then just keg it no matter what it's done.
This was a 10 gallon batch that I made. 5 in a glass carboy and 5 in a bucket. The picture was from the bucket which I kegged tonight after 9 days.(usually wait 2 weeks for this one but had empty kegs) took a gravity reading and it went from about 1.04ish to 1.01 or underish. It tastes good so I...
Has anybody had a "weird" fermentation with this beer? I have probably made 25 gallons of it and almost every time I get bubbles left on top. First time I thought it might be infected so I kegged it quick and drank it. Tasted great and when it happened the next time I just rolled with it and...
I blasted some c o2 befor but just remembered the psi wasn't very high when I did it so just blasted it with 30psi and that did the trick. It is at 10 psi now an pouring slowish which doesn't bother but am hoping the commercial keg pours better tomorrow when I retap it with the psi that high and...
I can hear the gas going in..... Haven't messed with anything and I have had the keg around 2 years. Put a new o ring on the gas side because it was leaking and will do the same to the beer side tomorrow. My regulator is a dual one but have always just had one tap running out of it.
No I tried and its the same no matter if I switch. The one thing I learned from searching this forum is that I need longer beer lines but don't think that will solve all my problems
I just hooked up a second tap on my garage fridge. I put a keg of amberbock on one and my esb home brew on the other. The amberbock is coming out super fast no matter the psi and the esb has stopped coming out all together. I am so confused. I untapped both and purged the c02 out to sit...
So I brewed a fullers esb clone and I think my fermentation temp was too high. It came out tasting like something similar to a Belgian something. Ya know kinda sweet I guess. Checked the fg and it was def finished. The only dif thing I did was use a dif yeast which I can't remember the name but...
I bought a replacement grate for a grill and it fits across my 10 gallon kettle. I can sit the bag on it to drain and squeeze it if I want.. Works great
Thanks guys that's what I thought. Got excited when a store opened up right around the corner but going there on the first day they opened and I kinda felt the owner had no clue when he said he never did a full grain batch in his 25 years of experience
