    Removing stuborn label glue

I also use an oxygen based cleaner in hot water. If there's anything left I use a steel wool scouring pad and it comes right off.

    12 Beers Of Christmas 2016!

Is it alright to post pictures of beers with names and email addresses on the labels?

    Brew day box

I use various sized Rubbermaid containers with latching lids. I have one smaller one that carries all of the primary stuff I need for my brewday. I can essentially grab it and go brew. I have larger rubbermaid containers that store all of my other items. If you are looking for a smaller box that...

    12 Beers Of Christmas 2016!

I printed them out on regular paper and smeared elmer's glue on the label to stick them to the bottles. I would have used a glue stick if I had one on hand.

Blichmann Cornical - Good Idea? Or Gimmick?

It's always cool to see the stuff that Blichmann makes but the two biggest problems I see: - You will have to buy more of those kegs to keep your pipeline going, at $175 a pop. - All of that junk that is left on the sidewalls of my fermenter will now be in my keg. Honestly I would rather...

Judges notes illegible... crowd source a translation?

I object. I think the judge was just razzle dazzled. c-zEtAuKuUY?=t12s

Ever felt like just not brewing?

I feel like my attitude carries over into the flavor of the beer I make. If I'm rushed, in a bad mood, or simply don't feel like brewing then I just postpone it until I'm better suited to brew. What's worse than not feeling like brewing is having the perfect day and feeling like brewing but not...

What do you look for when buying brewing supplies online.

Brewmaster's Warehouse probably had the single best website for generating and buying a recipe. You could literally create the recipe on the website and get all of the information about what the OG would be, what the IBU's would be, etc. You could order ingredients by the ounce and get just as...

    Number one beer in America.....

It is the "top rated beer" in the style category on a website and not the "number one beer in America." There are only 472 people who have rated it. 13.915 people have rated Bell's Two Hearted. Don't get angry at weighted statistics, websites, or algorithms.

    Today Show

The Today Show just did a little craft beer spot and I thought some of you might be interested in watching it. One of the anchors, Craig Melvin, mentions that he is a homebrewer and he brews a batch at Boston Beer Co. Nothing heavy hitting (Today Show :p) but I thought it was a nice fluff piece...

Firestone Walker to end production of Wookey Jack, double Jack and Opal

Long live the Wookie. It's my favorite Black IPA. I'll have to make a trip to the bottle shop and buy some before it's gone.

    Grain mill or Pump?

It depends on whether you are looking for a quicker brewday or self-sufficiency, and if you will have enough to get a plate chiller any time soon. A plate chiller, pump, and quick disconnects will all make your brewday shorter. A grain mill will make you less dependent on the store to crush...

    12 Beers Of Christmas 2016!

Yeah, I keg carb and use a bottle filler also. I had hoped to brew the beer this weekend but my LHBS ran out of the grains I needed so I'm just waiting on the shipment from Northern Brewer. Judging by my timeline on the test batch I should still be good to go.

    12 Beers Of Christmas 2016!

I brewed a test batch at the end of June just to check the spices out. I probably won't start brewing the batch that I ship until a little bit later so the beer will be fresh.

    HomeBrewTalk Survey

When a survey based on a hobby opens with questions about my gender, income, and education I just close it out. Obviously the creator of the survey is about as interested in the hobby as my doctor is my FICO score. Sorry if this derails your thread drksky. In an attempt to keep it on track I...

Brewery invents edible 6 pack rings from spent grain..Awesome!

This is awesome. They realize that trash is going to end up in the environment anyway so they make it edible by the animals in that environment.

    Coriander = Ginger??

I have used a lot of coriander and one thing I have noticed is that the aroma and flavor can change a lot depending on where you source the seeds from. Some have given me more of a vanilla aroma, some have given me more of a lemon aroma, etc. When I find one that has an awesome aroma or flavor I...

    Mini-fridge lagering?

I lager in a Frigidaire mini-fridge without any collars or anything. I use a STC-1000 that I built to control the temperature. Buckets are too wide but it can hold a Big Mouth Bubbler with a little bit of work and a carboy fits just fine. If you wanted to you could also ferment in corny kegs...

Would you buy "Box Subscription" for homebrewing?

I'm not a huge fan of these "of the month" deals because I prefer to just buy the items I want without having to worry about getting something I won't like. Since this is just for a class and you can probably pitch anything you want I will throw some ideas your way. Some of these "of the month"...

    German Beer. Holy crap Batman.

The hardest part for me was realizing that no imported German beer (that I could get) tasted as good as it did in Germany. That and the fact that you can't bottle gemütlichkeit... Enjoy the good stuff while you can! Prost!
