What do you mean can't accommodate kegs? no way to pour from your cornies, or won't allow them even if you bring in the necessary stuff. I beleive you can rent a jockey box (depending on when your wedding is, I have a 4 pass I could rent/loan out). Just a thought. I believe Keystone is around...

Of homebrew or commercial? If it's homebrew, we just bring to the club meeting and sample away. Commercial? I've stopped buying commercial largly. I mean, I'll pick up a case of an IPA if I don't have one on tap at the moment. Or, labatt blue (good tailgate beer or lawnmower beer). But...

    New Pots and Upgrade Paths

I would use the 15 gal for 5 gal boils, and the 20 for 10 gal boils. In terms of the pickup tube for the kettle, I just have a piece of tubing that comes out of the back of the ball valve, does a hard 90 and rests up against the side of the pot. My whirlpool port sits about 3" off the bottom of...

Yeah, we'd start at Race St Cafe, after getting off at Market East. "Ooooh its going to be nice out, lets do something outside and not hang out in bars.." Bah!

I guess what I'm saying is you can use the 20 gal as either a BK or a MLT, if you set it up correctly. Use it as a MLT when doing a big beer. Use it as a BK any other time.

    Too rack or not rack

I rack every beer, in part because that's the way it was taught when I started, but now more so because I've developed gout. One of the big gout no-no's is brewers yeast. Well, I'm not giving up my hobby, so I do all I can to filter it out, aside from using an actual filter. As long as I don't...

    New Pots and Upgrade Paths

Here's what I can offer after 2 years on my single tier and 3 15 gal pots. If I were to do it again, I would get a 20 gal pot, with a FB, as well as a FB for the 15 gal. My 10 gal 1.50-60ish beers fit fine in my 15 gal MLT. But 10 gal of a RIS? Not gonna happen. At that point, i'd use the 20 gal...

tried the outcome at one of our meetings. Think it was part of the forumlation process at that point. The beer was good, but I forget what Heady tastes like. So not sure if it was spot on or not.

I think with saturday's temps, I'll be having another marathon brew session. 10 gal of a doppelbock, 5 gal of our club competition beer, 10 gal of an IPA, and maybe 10 gal of our house pale. That's alot of beer. Definitly have to do the first two (have had teh grain for the dopplebock in the...

    Beer lines and Cleaning

I built that little hand pump beer line cleaner that you can find on here. I use it when I kick a keg. I don't clean every two weeks. Has been fine for the past 5 years.. Do with that what you will. ;)

    Blichmann Boilermaker - 10 vs 20 Gallon ??

I don't know. If I had to do it again, I'd go with a 20 gal. I have a 15 gal blich that I use for my MLT, and two penrose kettles i use for HLT and BK. I do alot of 10 gal batches, and on some bigger beers, would love to have a 20 gal MLT to handle the grain bill. On your smaller beers at 10 gal...

For those Hopheads that like Bells Hopslam, Union Jack's in Glenside will be taping a sixtel of this at 12:30 today. I'll be there at 11:45 settling in at the bar to watch USA vs CAN (assuming there is a spot at the bar, this place is busy for lunch. if not, i'll be somewhere in front of a TV)...

We were just at Barren Hill last night. Food there is pretty good, awesome beer selection (12 house beers I think, another 12-18 guest beers. BTW, the Bullfrog Sasion aged in the Tequila barrel was AWESOME). The Barren Hill knifes edge DIPA was damn tasty too. Fish and Chips are really good...

    Kettle Upgrade

I upgraded a while ago when I built my single tier to all 15gal pots. If I had to do it over again, it would be to two 15 and one 20. But, make it so my 20 could either be a BK or a MLT. I rarely do 5 gal brews anymore. I mean, if I'm going through the process, might as well do 10. Same goes for...
