    Minimum 3 months here but I'm using Pasteur red wine yeast. Less dry. Still better at 5 months. That's what I'm drinking now.

    Remember even though the tank pressure is lower, you still have the same amount of gas in there so it will not reduce the life of the tank, which is a common fallacy. I used to have mine in the fridge but due to space concerns now keep it outside. I ran the hoses in through the condensate...

    Just paid $0.20 a gallon

    Gotta love the gas points at the supermarket. Here in the mid-Atlantic we have Giant Eagle where it is commonly possible to get free gas up to 30 gal. I fill up 2 5 gal cans in addition to my pickup's tank. Just cant beat it considering the "points" come from groceries we already buy.

    Beersmith strike temp calculation

    I find beersmith is low on strike temp calculations. There are inputs for mash tun specific heat and weight. Tweaking those may get it closer to reality.

    The scientific method tells us to change one variable at a time to appreciate the effect of any given outcome. The differences are many. All you can really do is try different things and see what you like. Who cares what some guy on an internet forum has to say? :)

    That connection should seal on the flats, where the washer goes, so you are correct. If it is tight you can trim it, but if too small then you need to have them send you one that fits!
