The temperature was defintely too warm. I'm waiting to get my AC unit in so I didn't have a good place and outside wouldn't work because I live in South Louisiana and it's way too hot outside to brew. But, it's been at about 70 degrees the whole time. I know I should wait to bottle it and that'd...
I have a batch of Pale Ale that I started Sunday at 7 P.M.
I took a gravity reading for the first time a few moments ago, out of curiosity and it is already at its Final Gravity. If I take a reading Tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday and it is consistent, would I be able to bottle on Sunday?
It may not look as good as a glass bottle, but hey it's still beer, plastic or glass.
And yes, I've read that the root beer taste is hard to get out.
Most say to put it in club soda bottles and there's no taste or smell. Just pour the carbonated water out and the bottle is already sterile.
What if I were to check it this Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, and the readings were the same all three days. In other words, how long should the readings be the same before Its done? And, would it be ok if I were to check it this coming Sunday?
From what I have read, It is near impossible to get the root beer taste out of a bottle, or anything that had root beer in it . However, I have never tried it so I wouldn't know. I will keep the bottles in a dark place though.
I have a batch of pale ale in primary right now. I started it on Sunday night, at 7:01 PM to be exact. When is the earliest I should take a gravity reading?
Thanks! I guess I will buy some 1L club soda for the bottles. I suppose it'd be relatively cheap.
Iron, soda bottles because I am looking to go a cheaper route than glass bottles and buying a capper. But, from my understanding, it seems you had not known that it was possible to do so, before...
Step-By-Step, How do I go about bottling in 2L soda bottles?
Do I fill them all the way up? Almost all the way?
Do I squeeze the bottle until the beer is at the lip and then cap it?
What exactly will I need to do?
I am going to need some sort of a recipe. Can someone throw one together for me just using :
Yeast
Hops
Extract
Water
Including the boil times and how much of everything I need and everything I will need to do and know to make the beer
What do you guys think would happen if I made a batch with DME, rapid rising yeast from the grocery store, hops, fermented it in a bucket for about 10 days and then put it in bottles. Would it be anywhere near decent?
Thanks for the quick replies. I guess I will not be able to brew a beer like that then. If ale is the easiest, I will start with that. Would I be able to just use a 5 gal bucket to ferment and 2L soda bottles to bottle it? I just want to try something very easy, cheap, DIY, but good tasting...
I am just getting into brewing my own beer and need some help. I have researched and talked to friends and know a bit about it, but still need some help. I am looking to brew a simple and easy lager beer, something very similar to "Miller Light". I am not looking to buy any kits though. Can...
