What Beer Was Your Point of No Return?

Pike's Kilt Lifter. After that I started thinking about beer differently.

    Hop Stoopid! Anyone had it?

I realize I'm pretty late to this party, but I just tried Hop Stoopid tonight and I have to say that I did not enjoy it. I guess I wasn't ready for the 100 IBUs. I thought I could handle the hops, but alas, they have defeated me....and I am shamed. :( I guess I'll stick with Sweetgrass APA...

    Hello men

I bought a kit from midwestsupplies.com. I spent $130 for everything a beginning brewer needs (except a brew pot and recipe ingredients). 2 carboys, plastic fermenter, bottling bucket, capper, spoon, siphon...etc. Thats probably going to be a typical price unless things have changed since then.

    Warmer Weather Beers?

I'm planning on brewing: a Sam Adams clone of their Cherry Wheat (for my wife, I don't like Sam Adams Cherry Wheat), A Green Chile Beer (going to be interesting)

Taking a "clone" to a brewing competition...

I don't have the time to read all 9 pages of this thread so "please to excuse" if someone already stated this but... In the book Microbrewed Adventures by Charlie Papazian (a book where Charlie, president of the Great American Beer Festival, also experienced competition judge, tells stories...

When you add it to the mash, how do you add it? Coffee grounds, liquid coffee? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

    Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your beer is not ruined, at least not from the sediment. Hopefully the theif was sanitized though...if not, it still may be fine. What was you're OG? Typically FGs are around what you measured. What are you brewing?

Google...which will probably lead you back to a thread here. You could use the search function up at the top of the page. Also, there are many books with recipes.

Alcohol + World of Warcraft = funtimes!

Geez...you really do need to be drunk to place this I guess. On the extremely lucky occasion I'm able to play video games (wife and 8 month baby), I play so that I DON'T have to be social. I have lost many friends to WOW...it is unfortunate.

Alcohol + World of Warcraft = funtimes!

As a mathematician, I refuse to accept any equation without proper proof. Thus, bring on the homebrew and PS3!

    Take care gents.

Give 'em hell! I have a 8 month old daughter and I wouldn't be able to keep it together...you're a bigger man than I. Thank you for your service!

Thoughts on this Dbl. Choc. Stout

I have to agree with Oldsock on the priming sugar. I used three-quarters of a cup of corn sugar in my first chocolate stout and it was waaaaaay too carbinated after a couple of weeks of bottle conditioning (but one week after bottling it was PERFECT...sometimes it's too bad you cant stop it...

Anybody know of any BBQ beer recipies?

Haha! Maybe 12oz of A.1. to your boil...that would be interesting to say the least. Or season up some 2 row with your favorite bbq rub and roast it in the oven. To be honest, I'm not the best guy to take advice from. Cheers!

    My "assitant brewing" for life...

EDIT: By the way, the title of this thread should be "My 'assistant brewer' for life". Carry on. Wifes! They try to help, but somtimes they pull something like this: ME: (pointing to my Wyeast smack pack that has been growing for 3 days) "Will you go put this in the sanitizer bucket so I...

    Blood Orange Hefeweizen

So I did this as my first all grain batch yesterday. I used 5 lbs 2 row, 3 German Wheat, and 6 oz rice hulls. I was about 2 degrees under my target mash temp and had a bit of a boil over (new to the turkey fryer game). BeerSmith said I should get a 1.049 OG (75% brewhouse efficiency) but I...
