Looking for 2 good extract recipes to make Black & Tans.

Anyone got any good stout/pale ale recipes that go well together? I'll be bottling my Big Ben Pale Ale this weekend, so maybe I should just make a stout next that would go well with the BB? Any good recipes are definitely welcome. I've got two primaries so making them side by side is...

The Reliability Of People Wanting To Learn How To Brew

Haha same thing with me and I've only just begun. I honestly think people are just excited by the idea of it, and more than anything just want the rewards with none of the work.

How do you keep Wyeast smack packs from making a mess?

Thats all I've used for all 4 batches I've made and I've had no issues, that I'm aware of at least.

    Drunk Monk

I MAY go as its not far from me. However I'm still so new to all of this it would be kind of silly for me to go. I've only made 4 beers, and they've all been extract kits, haha.

5th batch, too early to come up with my own recipe?

Well I think I'm gonna end up buying beersmith. I've poked around the free trial and it seems like it'll be a GREAT tool. I'll probably work something up and post it after to see what you guys think, I don't want to have any obvious conflicts going on. And yeah I'm definitely not saying doing...

5th batch, too early to come up with my own recipe?

lol @ ramen My only understanding of ingredients comes from books, which means I don't know crap. You're probably right. Honestly though it'd be loosely based off some recipes I found already.

5th batch, too early to come up with my own recipe?

I've read a few books and brewed 4 batches. (none of which I've even tasted yet:p) I was thinking I'd do a Wheat beer next, and was thinking, why not just throw together my own recipe? I mean sure I don't really know what I'm doing, but theres software that can help with ABV and IBU. I...

    4 Beers a Brewin

I thought the two easiest to remove have been Victory and DFH bottles. Both are easier than Sam Adams IMO.

    4 Beers a Brewin

Nope, I got it from these guys: Homebrew Shop | Beer And Wine Making Supplies, St. Charles Illinois I did buy some one step but I also bought the label remover stuff too. Doesn't look like they have it on their site, I'll check it out when I get home.

    4 Beers a Brewin

Yeah I found it at a Brew Store somewhat near where I live. I heard the scent free oxiclean is just as good though. I plan on picking some up next trip to the store to give it a try.

Hows this for a Brew Kettle?

Actually it was at Ace. Was just under $50 even. Wish I woulda known about the Home Depot deal. It was too cold this weekend, so I just used the new pot on the stove in the kitchen. Can't wait to move outta there.
