    Obnoxious Football Trash Talk Thread

Past doesn't matter, what matters is this year. That's the same argument Yankees fans make when they don't make it, oooh look how many rings we have....who cares that's the past!!!

High Gravity Brewing vs Brew Boss vs Another Electric Brewing Setup

Agreed, and since you can edit the steps to fit your process it really gives you the sense of something that's not pre-built. You have something that you can tinker with. A lot more than just dialing a knob, entering a setpoint or flipping a switch. In my case I developed an entire step list to...

High Gravity Brewing vs Brew Boss vs Another Electric Brewing Setup

What I like about the Brew-Boss is that it's programmable, along with the excellent customer support and continual product improvements. For example, they have some nice software improvements on the way: Post from Brew-Boss Thread I use their controller with my two vessel system, but if I...

High Gravity Brewing vs Brew Boss vs Another Electric Brewing Setup

While we'd like to think that the home brewing universe revolves around HBT, I wonder of the actual % of home brewers that are on the forum or would even come to it to research a product?

High Gravity Brewing vs Brew Boss vs Another Electric Brewing Setup

And just to add, I find that vendors/manufactures tend to not post in on-line forums even when the reviews are negative. It goes a long way if they do, but I find this to be true weather it's on here or other forums that I frequent.

High Gravity Brewing vs Brew Boss vs Another Electric Brewing Setup

Like I said in my post, this is not to debate the price of the controller compared to their competitors or building your own. We know it's more. Weather it's 2x, 10x or 100x it's up to the consumers on how much of a markup they are willing to pay after comparison shopping. The question lies...

High Gravity Brewing vs Brew Boss vs Another Electric Brewing Setup

Can you provide some facts that what you are saying and perpetuating in every thread about High Gravity is correct? IMO a photo of the inside of the controller would be needed for that, one of what they are sending out today. This isn't to debate that it's expensive compared to other...

    Brew Boss Systems

I'm really interested to see how the import works. That would be great to be able to develop the recipe and steps completely in BeerSmith, then just import them over.

Kickstarter for SS Mash Tun, Kettle and Fermenter

I agree, people should be aware of what they are buying and that Chapman uses a different grade stainless than industry norm. But does that matter in homebrewing applications? Time will tell how well their products hold up.

Kickstarter for SS Mash Tun, Kettle and Fermenter

Joe_Craft and NcBrewer, you seam to be very passionate, maybe overly, on the subject of the steel along with pointing out that Chapman products should be considered inferior to everything else on the market. This raises two questions: Are you in anyway affiliated with a competitors product...

Kickstarter for SS Mash Tun, Kettle and Fermenter

I think it's a great idea to have an option to purchase just the vessel. I'm assuming no ports would be drilled in them? This gives people the ability to configure them how they want or swap over fittings from their existing equipment. This may also give you an edge over other manufacturers...

Kickstarter for SS Mash Tun, Kettle and Fermenter

Really, that's like starting off a sentence "With all due respect...". Since you brought it up...For home brewing applications why should one use 304 vice 201? You provide no explanation in your post, other than no one else is using it. If I had to guess, a majority if not all commercial...

Kickstarter for SS Mash Tun, Kettle and Fermenter

No, from what I've seen on here so far the only thing "requiring" modification is the dip tube attachment. For which by the Chapman post above they are working to solution. It appears they are also addressing other issues and individual issues people are having.

I'm not seeing how the bushing and bulkhead are going to work together, unless you also add a coupling. With the bushing you should just need a female hose barb on the end.

I also found out that it's easier to install attachments (valve, thermometer, camlock, etc.) if you remove the bulkhead from the ThermoBarrel. This way you can tighten the attachment while griping onto the bulkhead with something. Then just reinstall the bulkhead with the attachment on it, by...

That's the way the thermometers come, it's a complete assembly. I used the thermometer from my cooler MLT, vice the one they supplied.

Here's their bulkhead (minus the camlock). The inside wall gets sandwiched between the two o-rings. The nut that goes on the end is not in the photo. I took all the bulkheads out to apply sealant to the foam. I did this with my cooler MLT and thought it a good idea to do again, just incase a...

I transferred over everything, including valve and thermometer, from my cooler MLT to the ThermoBarrel. Now I just need to do a water test.
