    So could I do this with and extract kit (read, I'm brand new to this). Brew a wheat beer extract, ferment for ~2weeks, rack to secondary with sorbate (how much) and 8lbs frozen blueberries, let soak for 2weeks?? or I could bluntly ask for your recipe.

    I like the zero part. In Clemson we use to have a $10 deposit on keg shells. So I'm going to make a few phone calls and try to get a free shell, if not I'll call the old fraternity and get them to put a couple of shells aside.

    Well that's certainly more sensible than what I was thinking. Plugging a pressurized air line in and seeing if I could blow the lid off ;) but that would have made for a good story, trip to the ER and a run to the LHBS for a new bucket.

    Possibly a stupid question. How do you check if its air tight? Obviously I'm new to this.

    Ok. So the consensus is 3 weeks in the primary, but how long is too long in the primary. For example, I have to leave for a 4 week away rotation this summer, can I leave it or will it start to go bad? Or...what's the time frame to move to a secondary if you have to wait a while to bottle?

    How did the pickle bucket turn out? I was thinking of grabbing a few for secondary..or maybe just a sanitizer bucket if it cleans out ok.
