    Mash Out and Fly Sparging

I am not sure if I have the mash out procedure correct. I fly sparge and have not done a mash out. I have read a few good things on it and will be adding it to my procedure next AG brew. I use BeerSmith so will get the proper volumes and temperatures from the program. The following is the...

    Best keg conversion kit

I suggest giving them a call. Very helpful and knowledgeable people. They will be able to do the whole order over the phone and also answer any questions you have. The will also guide you in the right direction with anything else you would need like keg lube. Check out this thread, the first...

    Best keg conversion kit

That's the exact one I have. I upgraded to a dual body regulator, which is what you will have to do to have 2 beers at 2 different pressures.http://stores.kegconnection.com/Detail.bok?no=336 This is pretty much all you need to get started. A lot of people upgrade to Perlick faucets as well. May...

    2 First's: Need your Help!

Thanks Yooper. That gets me down a lot closer to the recommended SG. I just used the average 1.04. That gets me to a SG of 1.067. That is close enough for me!! I'm surprised that I didn't find that post before since this website is my main reason for getting a refractometer! I thought I must...

    2 First's: Need your Help!

    Kegerator conversion question

Right away, just remember to purge the o2 out after you put co2 on it.
  8. dustinp

How much does it cost you for your CO2?

$10 for a 5# fill up at a fire extinguisher service company. Small town, USA!!

    Kegerator conversion question

Most of the online brew stores have the conversion kit all set up and ready. I'm sure either of these vendors would be more then happy to set you up with both of these things together, just give one of them a call and tell them this is what you want!! Happy Kegging...

The cure for your short hose troubles

Here is a question for all of the mixer stick experts!!: Is there any other side effects to a slow pour besides waiting for your glass to fill up? For example, any carbonation, or head retention issues? The reason I ask is because I am set at 20psi for a honey weizen and have 2 mixer sticks in...

    Carbonation conficting concerns

I'm with Yopper, that's a lot of work adjusting pressure everytime you pull a pint!!! I can't say enough about the mixers!! Was very hesitant at first, but after reading through all the pages, I thought I would give them a shot. Well they worked very good, and they are a great tool to use...

    Thanks Kegconnection!

+1 Agreed!! The used kegs I got were near perfect. 2 very small dents and hardly and stickers!!! I was very happy with them!!

    Thanks Kegconnection!

Yes, I loved the great service from kegconnection!! My kegs were almost perfect, just a few spots of glue here and there. A little spray of carb. cleaner, and good as new!!!! (only used on the outside of the keg of course)

    Thanks Kegconnection!

I know this may cause some bad reactions by some people on the boards, but if you are trying to get the glue and gunk off the outsides, try carburetor cleaner on a rag. That's how I got mine all nice and shiny on the outside. I scraped the stickers off with a razor blade and then some carb...

    Thanks Kegconnection!

One place to try for fill is a place that services fire extinguishers. That is where I fill mine up in IL. $14 for a 5# fill-up. I tried all of the welding and soda/beer distributer places in my area and they were all exchanges. Just a thought! EDIT: $10 for a 5# fill-up. Lucky me!!

    refridgerate secondary or keg?

So it sounds like the only reason I would cold crash in the secondary is for clarity? It doesn't have anything to do with benefiting the kegging process? Racking the beer in the keg at 65 degree fermenting temps, pressurizing, then refrigerating would be the way to go if the beer is clear?

    refridgerate secondary or keg?

So my question deals with the preferred process: When racking the beer into the keg from a secondary, would you suggest to chill the secondary before racking into the keg (is this called cold crashing?), or rack into keg from secondary that is not chilled, add co2, then refrigerate? Is there a...

The cure for your short hose troubles

I just ordered the mixers. That was the easiest online order I have ever placed!! In and out of the website in under 30 seconds!!! Also, they are coming from about 3 hours away, and they ship out today, I should have them in a day or 2!!!!

The cure for your short hose troubles

So I read through all the pages and I have decided to order these sticks and put them in the dip tube. I have a Honey Weizen that will be in the keg in a couple weeks after the secondary is completed. This will be the most carbonated beer I have kegged so far. According to the charts I have...

Fermentation can take 24 to 72 hrs to show visible signs.

This is my first post and my first week on this site. I've been with the brewing "hobby" for about a year now and for some reason did not know anything about this site until now. I am very glad I fell into it!! I am into just brewing kits right now and have brewed about 5 total. I love the...
