    Irish Stout

I'm sure it'll be fine. Ales are the easiest. I was told I didn't need a secondary and after about 5 days I was ready to keg. Gravity stayed the same so I did and I'm drinking it now!

    Honey nut brown ale

I'm putting the cherries in a container with the vodka for a couple weeks per advice from my local brew shop owner who has been in the business for 25 years. I'm poking around to get feedback. You guys think it'll F up the end result? I trust the guy, but still respect the popular opinion. I can...

    Irish Stout

Just finished my 3rd batch of Irish Stout. I wanted to thank everyone who helped me refine my process. I really got it down now. I steeped my grains instead of boiling them, and thanks to my buddy at the brew shop I got a way more active yeast (london ale) this time and better hops (kent...

    Kegging

Do you have to leave the co2 hooked up all the time in the fridge? Or is a charge good enough?
  10. L

    Kegging

Cool. I did that and it's still good! Thank you.

    Kegging

So let's say I got the brew into the keg. Then I charged it with co2. Everything was fine, until I went to get some cold brew after work one night, and found out the co2 had leaked out somehow. It had been out for about 2-3 days but still refrigerated. Can I just recharge it, or is it all over...

    Fermentation

Tannin? The guy from back to the future, Biff? What's he doing in my beer? Jk haha

    Fermentation

    Fermentation

What's the difference between steeping and boiling?
  15. L

    Fermentation

I'm doing it for more flavor. The first batch turned out great. With some things, boiling everything at once, you lose flavors and characteristics of the grain the longer it boils. Adding them in phases brings out a lot more flavor characteristics of the grain. Some people add grain to the...

    Fermentation

Go for it! It's great. Aside from the mistakes I made from brewing to kegging, it came out awesome! Give it a shot and let me know how it turns out for you... The recipe itself is awesome
