    Pumpkin juice vs pumpkin chunks

Well I measured my gravity today and it was at 1.017 pretty much final. During the fermentation there was pumpkin aroma and there was a salty pumpkin finish to the beer. As it has finished up, however the pumpkin is really hard to detect. So I guess as it stands I made a sweet malty spiced...

    Pumpkin juice vs pumpkin chunks

I find that you want the spices to be a little heavy at the start, they will mellow out with aging. But you are right don't go crazy with them.

I'll find out, I hope it ends up higher than that. Sometimes beer smith is crazy.

    Pumpkin juice vs pumpkin chunks

I don't know how much sugar is actually in the pumpkin, they are pretty bitter. Make sure you have a good juicer, pumpkins are pretty rough on them. The nice thing about adding it to the mash, assuming you recirculate your mash, is that the grain bed will filter all the pulp left in your juice...

    Pumpkin juice vs pumpkin chunks

I just put my pumpkin lager onto the cooler to lager, I will be sure to let you know how it turned out. I used hole spices from A1 Spice World and juiced 2 medium pumpkins. I got about 1.2 Gallons of juice that I used in the mash to replace some of the mash water. I have done it both ways, juice...

    Iceless fermentation chamber

Nice, I am thinking of doing this myself, only in a different way. Insulate the Fermentor and cool it directly using a loop off of my kegorator. Thanks for the pics.

    Never Use Pbw Again!!

I will never use OxyClean again. I usually storage the leftover PBW in unused kegs and then reuse it, assuming it is fairly clean. When I go to use the keg after say a month the inside is unbelievably clean. Tried this with OxyClean and it crystallized on the inside of my keg the only thing that...

    Controller Question for P-J

One comment about a 4 wire setup. Take the panel cover off of your electrical service and you might see that the white neutral wire is on the same lug as the ground wire. Further more only 3 wires come off the transformer that feed your house, 2 hots and a ground, just depends where the neutral...

    March Pump Bronze Replacement Head

that is interesting, I did a quick look up on the topic. Here is what John Palmer had to say about it: Cleaning Brass Some brewers use brass fittings in conjunction with their wort chillers or other brewing equipment and are concerned about the lead that is present in brass alloys. A solution...

    March Pump Bronze Replacement Head

Ya Bronze contains LEAD ie not food safe it can kill you. Some bronze does not have lead, but all bronze have zinc. In large quantities zinc is just as bad as lead. I will stick to Stainless Steel, pay the money and dont worry about it!
