12 Beers of Christmas 2020 Edition

This will be my first gruit. Looking forward. Yours is guaranteed to be the best I've ever had. I won't think it through any further than that.

What about brewing more often, but smaller batches?

Well here's a good sign: I was sad when I thought this was a goodbye message. 🙂 Prost!

12 Beers of Christmas 2020 Edition

Last year I used Leapin Lizard Labels, which I heard about here. Kind of expensive, but very high quality...too high, actually--they don't come off with oxyclean like most other labels. This time around I'll look for a cheaper alternative but if nothing jumps out I'll go with them again.

And depending on which carrier you use, you may save money on shipping since those boxes are smaller than the 'phat' box alternative.

    Always something...low morale

How do I easily clean the shoulders of a PET carboy ?

This is basically what I do, but not overnight...just for a while. I put in a gallon or so of hot water w Oxyclean, turn upside down with a solid stopper on top. The neck goes into the drainhole in the sink, allowing it to stand upright (meaning upside-down in this case). Of course this may...

    Hopped a bit early

Oh, gotcha. Yep, you can certainly do that. Won't hurt a thing.

    Hopped a bit early

I've done dry hops too early twice, and both times I did not like the taste. At all. But others didn't think it was bad. So you'll just have to wait and see what you think. OR, it could have been done fermenting after 6 days anyway. As for bottling straight from the tap. I would not do...

I gotta say I have no ******* idea what this thread is about. But I wish you luck! 😁 :mug:

    Gushing bottles

Could it be ambient contaminants? This is something I've wondered about, not even because of a problem. Just pops into my head every so often: If I had mold in my walls, would it end up getting into my beer, despite any sanitation efforts I make? We know sanitation doesn't get rid of...
