    Rodenbach Grand Cru Clone

I would have let it sit longer, but my buddy's wedding is in three weeks and I want the bottles to carb in time. I actually had the same problem with low temps in the winter, it was definitely too chilly for the bugs. I ended up putting it in a second floor closet and that kept it at 70*F the...

    Rodenbach Grand Cru Clone

I brewed a batch of this back in September and just bottled it today. It is phenomenal! One of the best beers I have ever made. I made it for my buddy's wedding, so hopefully he will enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks for the recipe!

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

I made a batch of this using Simcoe for bittering and Citra for everything else, took 3rd place out of 40 for IPA category in a local competition. I highly recommend it! I just double checked my recipe and it was Simcoe for 60 and 15 minute additions, Citra for everything else.

FT: Zombie Dust, Dreadnaught, Gumballhead, and any IL/WI beer you'd like!

I was in my local liquor store the other day and I just happen to walk in on 3 Floyd's delivery day. So I picked up fresh Zombie Dust, Gumballhead, and a bomber of Dreadnaught. I am willing to trade three each of the ZD and GH and one Dreadnaught bomber. I also have one bomber of BCBS '15; I...

    High Demand/Low Supply Breweries

New Glarus in Wisconsin operates on a similar principal. They do not distribute outside of Wisconsin and refuse to do so. That sends lots of people from Illinois and Minnesota over the border for their products. Totally, universally available in Wisconsin, but impossible to find outside.

Can CO2 be a source of off flavors?

Any reputable paintball shop should know the difference between CO2 and compressed air. It is absolutely true that the vast majority of guns use compressed air (just plain old air out of a compressor), but lots of entry-level guns still use CO2. It's possible that a not so knowledgeable or not...

    Irish Stout Guinness Draught Clone

Got it. I was gonna say! I can honestly say I have never heard that advice before, I'll have to keep it in mind for next time. I just brewed this on Saturday and had the best efficiency I have had in a while. Tightened up my mill and that seemed to help a lot.

Did you not crush your grain..? If you didn't crush the grain then that would account for your low efficiency and lighter color.

    Bourbon County Stout clone attempt

That's actually really good to know, I have become a fan of Farmhouse Brewing lately. And would also save me from charring myself. Thanks for the heads up!

    Bourbon County Stout clone attempt

This is super interesting. I am gonna have to keep an eye on his page to see what happens. I only have 2 oz. of oak soaking right now, maybe I'll get another 2 oz. and char it. Another novel idea! I am not sure if I have the equipment for that, but it's worth looking into.

    Bourbon County Stout clone attempt

So maybe someone can help me out and let me know if I'm being crazy... I plan to brew this the first weekend of June and then age it until Christmas time. I just added 2 oz. of French oak to about 16 oz. of Bulleit Bourbon and stuck the whole mess in a tupperware container in a dark cabinet...

It has been much easier to get the real deal lately so no one is trying to do it themselves! :D

British Brown Ale Nut Brown AG

What temperature did you mash at? That would be the first culprit for a high FG. And what yeast?

How many gallons of homebrew in 2016?

    889 + 6 gallons Brown Ale = 895

This is fine. I don't know of anyone that rinses their StarSan bubbles or lets it dry. Don't fear the foam :)

Show us your DIY stir plate!

New DIY to replace my old one. My previous one wasn't wide enough for me and I didn't have a good power supply for it, so I started from scratch. Upgraded to a variable voltage circuit as well. Ended up a little pricier at $40, but I love how clean it turned out.
