Advice for a growing my home brewery

I'm ok with doing 5 gallon partial mashes. My main concern was the cost vs quality. And making sure I chose the right equipment to start with. I'll admit I'm still learning a lot about it so I have a lot of newb questions still. Thanks for the help on this thread!

Advice for a growing my home brewery

I'll have to wait on the AG setup for 10 gallons. Don't quite have a budget for all that metal yet. But I'm hopeful that I can have it soon. Had my first glass of honey cream ale today. It cost me $280. It was the single most expensive beer I've ever drank. At least the rest of them are...

Advice for a growing my home brewery

I've been looking around at kettle pots and I can only find 36 quart locally and for a reasonable price. To add another 4 quarts it makes the price jump about $100. Also I'm looking at aluminum instead of stainless. Stainless is triple the price and I don't see any reason to use it other than...

    What do you drive?

I used to drive a 1982 Mercedes Benz 380SEC but it needs an ignition wire and gas. I just keep spending the extra money on beer though. We're not supposed to drink and drive right? Problem solved! :0) (Sniffin the airlocks) I thought I was the only one that did that. It's almost like a...

    To go Secondary or not

I've not really got an opinion on it. Secondary is useful for clarifying but most people I know don't bother if they've got several weeks in a Primary unless it is for a contest. That's just my understanding of it.

    TSA rides again!

It's been argued that the fluoride in the water water supply dumbs people down sort of like mindless zombies. I'm thinking he pretty much works at the plant.

Apparently he likes giving head and tasting it afterwards? "I just ate the whole head" he said....yeah buddy that you did. Apparently she didn't like eating the head as much as she did.

    Hurricane Sandy casualties?

I'm sorry you guys had to experience that storm and hope you can pick up the pieces soon. But a hot beer is better than no beer. And if you can get a bag or two of ice you can always put a keg in a bucket of ice water for partyin.....erm emergencies.

    Brewing newbie...

All good comments and advice. Thank you! From the pricing I can afford to screw up a couple of batches of all grain in the start but I'm patient enough to go slow. At least from what I can tell the extracts are like $16/ 3 lbs and that was the bulk of the price for my Tripel. So to cut the...

    Brewing newbie...

Thanks for the tips! I'm still watching a ton of videos and learning. We've been hitting the local brew house for classes for several weeks (yeah I was nervous about screwing up) before we started. But it seems like I just enjoy the whole process of making the beer as much as drinking the...

We've done two brews and still waiting to bottle. Now we're talking about moving to an all grain setup and we've not been doing this two weeks yet.
