    Manual controller

Not exactly. It will work to maintain a temperature., but that PID doesn't have a manual mode, so you can't controll a boil intensity. And it supports only Celsius reading. I'd recommend this PID http://www.ebay.com/itm/231206228037 but you need to order SSR sepatately.

    Planning Control Panel Build

yes controller with two contactors will work, but both contactors control only an element and nothing else. So you can remove one of them without affecting any functionality.

    Planning Control Panel Build

OK. undestood. But anyway, "left" contactor is not needed.

    Planning Control Panel Build

Second contactor and its sitch are redundant. One is enough.

    SSR Question

BTW.so called "Auber" SSR is just a relabeled Mager SSR (reputable Chinese brand) . And you can by the same SSR twice cheaper. For example http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Solid-State-Relays-SSR-AC24V-AC480V-25A-3-32VDC-D4825-NEW-DC-AC-/331064002285

    SSR Question

Indeed 40A generate less heat on the same current that 25A version, but difference is not very significant. According to datasheet maximum powwer dissipation at 22Amp (5500 watt element connected) for 40A version is around 22 Watt and for 25A version is around 25 Watt

    SSR Question

+1 You can test it with any wattage 120v incandescent lamp.

    MYPIN TA4 'LLLL' error

You don't need a jumper between 7 and 10 since it for 4-wire thermoprobe. Did you set your PID for PT-100 input?

    Best Still Dragon Controller Hacks?

Still Dragon kit use an SSVR it's a different type of SSR and it's not compatible with that Auber controller. If you like some ideas abou Still Dragon kit mods - take a look here : http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=85&t=51796

    Brewtroller Temp Sensor help!!!

there are many probes available on eBay. Search for DB18S20 For example www.ebay.com/itm/1Pcs-DS18B20-100cm-Waterproof-Digital-Thermal-stainless-steel-Sensor-oo-/271562922143 Or you can buy an sensor itself and make your own probe.

New digital solid state power relay for boil regulation

Be cautious. This regulator vorks correctly only on 50Hz .It useless in US or Canada since we have 60Hz mains.

    Auberins SYL-2342 and SSR's?

You can set the same 2 sec cycle time for relay output as for SSR. Electrical lcontac life is much (up to 100 times) shorter than mechanical. So short cycle time is not good for relay when it works under load. SSR connected to relay create virtually no electrical load. So you will have around 1...

    120v Dimmer switch...

SmokeyMcBong - That regulator will definitely work on 120V. The only downside - you will have output only on a second half turn of the knob. The first half turn give you no power.
  15. Brumateur

    Auberins SYL-2342 and SSR's?

yes exactly. Just don't use 3v power supply. Not all SSRs work reliable on 3Volts.
  16. Brumateur

    Auberins SYL-2342 and SSR's?

You can use relay output PID with SSR. you just need an any DC power supply with output voltage in 5- 24 range. For example chsrger from an any old phone. Just connect it inline with relay output and SSR.

Mash Tun Temp Display on Control Panel

There is absolutely no additional tear or wear happening to PID if it' runs with no SSR/element connected.

PID Issue - need peace of mind

If the temperature reading is off you can correct using this parameter: Temperature = ReadingValue – OffsetParameter. For example: -*The probe reads 75F but the actual temperature is 70F. Set this parameter to “5”. -*The probe reads 140F but the actual temperature is 142F...

    REX-C700 PID for boil?

Yes, C700 doesn't have a manual mode. So you can't use it to control a BK.
  20. Brumateur

PID Issue - need peace of mind

,,Yes RNR model has a relay output. you still can make it work with SSR but you need an external DC power supply for any voltage between 5 and 24 volts. Just connect in series with an SSR.
