it seemed to have lost about 1/2 gallon from the boil, that may be why?!

right on it definitely was not that hot and i aerated the **** out of it...that thermometer i borrowed is garbage though haha, it is waaaaaaaaay off even after i recalibrated it twice... gonna have to pick up a new one...

ok did my 1st unsupervised batch today and it is an abita purple haze kit from austin homebrewing... kit directions state the initial gravity should be 1.042, however when i did my hydrometer reading it is at 1.048? big deal? what could have happened? thanks! :mug:

yeah funny thing right after i posted this i was browsing the gabf awards in my all about beer magazine and saw it haha... since my first label depicts a cartoon einstein, my girlfriend came up with gerberstein (gerber being my last name) and i was thinking about doing the head of the gerber...

thinking of doing something regarding prohibition...what do you think? repeal brewing company? 21st amendment brewing? ideas along those lines??? :mug:

kinda stumped on what i want for a label on my first original recipe homebrew i did this past weekend... it is an IPA and i have decided to call it hop stupid...shoot some ideas my way please!

that is where i got all of my ingredients...i was looking at the site while doing the recipe to make sure what hops were available anyone have any comments on the hop additions and times?

actually used a buddies beersmith program and designed something from scratch...he will be supervising but this will be my first batch, i have helped another buddy once...i can see this being addictive haha :mug:
