    1. Always clean EVERYTHING that comes into contact with your brew - Everytime. 2. The way that I remember which disconnects are which: GREY = GAS BLACK = BREW 3. Both ends - if I understand your Question. 4. Attach the hoses, to the regulator - then attach reg to tank, turn on. High...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

From a Wino's Perspective - you could preserve the brew a bit longer by using Potassiam Sorbate (.5 teaspoon/gallon) & Pottassium Metabisulphate 1/4 teaspoon for 5 gallons - mixed to a little bit of the finished wine, and then stirred into the brew. The sorbate does effectively nueter the...

    Just Emptied My First Keg

Clean and then sanitiser (I use Potassiam MetaBisulphate) and store under pressure. This way I am sure that it is pressure tested when I crack it open for the next fill. CO2 + SO2 = NO BUGS Kilroy

    Bottling advice?

3 Things that I could suggest - I am a Wine Maker, and use these, but they work just as well for beer ( I made and bottled hard Cider so this I know) The first is a Bottle Tree - After you wash and sanitise the bottle (before filling) hang the bottle on the bottle tree, you can get up to 90 on...

    Keg type

1 Problem that I have encountered in my Ball Locks - is sometimes - in a (drunken) stupor I will attach my gas line to the liquid out side. For some reason the brew does not like that. With Pin lock you cannot do that - and there are also adapters that I have seen online that will convert a...

    Kegging Newbie

Umm definately wait for your CO2. I tried to prime my hard cider a month ago, and I pressure tested the kegs before hand to make sure they were sealing. Came back to them last week, and pulled on the release valve a bit to see if I had pressure - NADA!!!! hooked up the CO2 and it just...

    Force Carbonation

Well - I't turned out that my attempt to naturally condition my hard cider in kegs did not go so well. Something about the poxy O-rings deciding not to seal. (I did pressure test them prior to filling them too - mutter) Anyway, So onto force carbonating the stuff. I got new O-rings, and set...
