Ill be interested to see how the concrete stain works. I have had some spillage on my concrete board, no issues yet but it is kind of crumbly stuff to begin with. Figured id be replacing it ever so often. Stain and tile bottom might be worth while for longevity + it will look better.

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

Just kicked my keg, went way too fast. Didnt keep track of how much my buddies drank. This definately hit its stride in the last week or so, dropped pretty clear as well. Will for sure make this again.

You could tile if you wanted, its probably pretty cheap insurance. I dont think it is neccessary, but i am usually the first one to overbuild something in the name of cheap insurance, plus it would look nicer. I also roughly sanded mine and coated it all in a stain/poly mix

Yeah that is going to sit up real high. I think mine is 7ft assembled but my burner sits much lower than yours, at least a foot. I made my uprights slide into channels, then i used dowls in the top of the uprights and drilled holes in the top cross piece to line it up. Then used swage locks for...

My wood (no pun intended) is cool to the touch. The cement board also acts as a nice wind blocker as well.

    Chest freezer tips?

I use a seedling mat in my 7 cuft freezer. Easily holds 2 6.5gal BMB with room for containers for blowoff tubes. I just run the wires under the lid, no issues with it being able to hold temp.

    A Tribute to Hunahpu

I want to brew this beer so it will be ready for fall/winter next year, however, i will be moving this coming summer. Any issues if i have it in a keg to condition before i move? Id move the keg myself so it wouldnt get thrown around much, but ot will still be moved possibly across country. Or...

    Newb question - First BIAB

hey if you enjoy doing things less efficiently and wasting money, knock yourself out. adjusting my grain mill once to save a couple pounds of grain every single brew day seems like a no brainer, but if you want to be stubborn for the sake of being stubborn, then I got nothing for you. The...

    Newb question - First BIAB

62% is really low unless you are doing high gravity/ large grain bill brews. Try a finer crush. Do you stir the mash at all during? Of course you stir at dough in, but give it a good stir a time or two during the mash, shouldn't affect temp much.

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

Just kegged mine, smelled like straight apricots and peaches. For those that have had the pleasure, what is the aroma of the actual thing like?

Put this fermentation/conditioning schedule in the right order

For my ipas, it differs slightly depending on what they are but something like this 1. Primary (10-14 days) 2. Dry hop (7 days) 3. 2nd Dryhop (3-4 days if done) 4. Keg (at 10-14 days after pitching)

Brewing in a country with alcohol prohibition

I was in SA back in late 2014, it was interesting for sure. No booze, but we had someone bring some whiskey over the bridge for us. No porn, will lead you to the weirdest corners of youtube. Nothing to do for recreation other than going out to eat or shop. This was just before women got the...
