BIAB - Single Crush, Double Crush, Squeeze, No-squeeze Efficiencies

If you are draining over the kettle for the entire boil - what volume are you using to calculate your efficiency?

BIAB - Single Crush, Double Crush, Squeeze, No-squeeze Efficiencies

You are welcome. I do not sparge. I brew full volume mash in a bag (Brew Bag 400u) in a basket, electric (Unibrau).

BIAB - Single Crush, Double Crush, Squeeze, No-squeeze Efficiencies

The w/Squeeze and No Squeeze volumes were different - as you would expect. So with the same gravity - the efficiency has to be different.

BIAB - Single Crush, Double Crush, Squeeze, No-squeeze Efficiencies

Posted this on FB - but ICYMI and are interested: I know that the fellows at Brulosphy have done two exbeeriments relating to crush size. The first one compared 0.039” and 0.025” – which was pretty close to what I wanted to know – and the test did show a big difference in OG for what was...

    Unibrau 120v Plus Induction

Got my system yesterday and did a dry run this morning - noting the times to raise stike to mash temps and then to boil. Plus evaporation rate:

    Unibrau 120v Plus Induction

I went with the 120V option so that I could continue to brew in my kitchen once I realized that I could augment the heat source for raising temps with my top of the line Bosch induction Cooktop (with Speedboost!). I have been using the cooktop exclusively for my extract brews (3 gallon boil for...

    Ahoy! Ahoy!

Been brewing extract and partial mash for about 3 or 4 months with very much success. The partial mash pushed me to all grain. Next batch will be on my new Unibrau 10 gallon system - that shipped yesterday. I usually do not do three hobbies at once - but here I am. Many of the threads here...
