Cultivating yeast from high gravity Belgian

Dont really have to much knowledge on the subject but i would think that taking the little amount of yeast that you would get from the bottles that is already stressed to high hell from the huge beer its already in then trying to rebuild it up to be healthy enough to reuse in another huge beer...

Anyone else not a fan of 2qt/lb?

mash thickness has nothing at all to do with any of the off flavors you have in your batches that you are dumping out. i dont use any ratio for strike water to lbs of grain, I just eye ball it with at temp strike water but i usually run it fairly thin because i like to get a nice whirlpool...

Hybrid dry hoping with randall or hopinator......

Yet another "pitching on the cake" thread

I usually just used a big stainless kitchen spoon and scoop out a heap or 2 of slurry to add with my existing yeast if i am attempting to reuse yeast from a previous batch. Also just tossing the IPA onto your previous dry hopped Ipa batch hops and all may give the second batch some grassy over...

    My first all-grain batch!

Just want to add to always have more hot water on hand than is needed, Be it for mash in or sparging. All systems are not created equal and different varieties of grains absorb differently. Nothing like doing your first all grain and having to be scrambling for some hot water. Learning all grain...

    Rain Water

You should really invest in a water filter housing and a good carbon cartridge, it should run around $25 bucks or so if you check out the ametek filters and housings at filtersfast.com. I know bottle water is like 98 cents a gallon but once you pick up a filtering system after a few batches you...

    Why Whirlpool?

I use the false bottom in the boil kettle and only leaf hops. The leaf hops really help to hold back all the goo.
