Celebrating my first 10 gallon batch

I just bought my grain/yeast/hops for my first 10 gallon AG this weekend. girlfriend/family/friends seem to love my blonde ale, and i'm just tired of brewing it, when i could be doing different recipes/styles, so i figured i'd move it to 10 gallon batches.

    Is The Stig really __________?

i saw a quick clip of it, but it was just him walking on stage and everyone clapping when they showed who it was. didnt see what was said after it, assumed it was a joke, haha, i'd like to think __________ probably has other things going on in his life then be the Stig. i love TopGear!

How Long Does a Corny Keg Last For You?

i have four taps, but only seem to get 2 of my beers on tap at the same time. but the last few months i've brewed alot of blondes/wheats/pale ales and they are kicked quick when we have friends over. my last pale lasted the longest, probably about 5 weeks, my blonde seems to last about 2-3.

Mad at myself(a lot)!!!! and at Jamil(just a little)

i brew alot of his recipes from that book as well and i also use beersmith. at least its a barlywine, most of the bitterness will drop out over a long aging cycle.

Good Styles for the typical Beer Novice?

I've brewed Jamil's twice, its good. we have people over alot, and for people who mostly drink BMC, its a solid recipe. in fact i'm brewing it again in a couple weeks. i usually try to have that/mild or something else that's lower in ABV so i can work around outside afterwork during the week...

    kegerator/keezer questions.

they sell temp control that your freezer plugs into, and a probe that you hang inside the freezer. see the link for some examples Austin Homebrew Supply i don't insulate the holes. if i remember correctly the OD of the shank is just under 7/8", so i used a hole saw for 7/8". there is...

    First RIS brew

can't help you much with the grain bill, but i see Nugget & Columbus are both sub's for Warrior. if it were me, i'd go Chinook. i love chinook though.

    Barley Crusher

i used it without a drill for a short time. i got my BC right after moving into my house and i had lost my cordless drill for a few weeks until i opened the right box. i think i did two batches that way...it just seemed to take forever to get 10+ pounds of grain crushed.

Stupid Mistake #1 - Dry hopping in keg (pellets)

Keg lid - With tab welded on | MoreBeer if you know someone who can weld SS you can get away with it costing less. i think there were some threads on here where someone did something like this as well. i could be wrong, but i've read somewhere that you can use fishing line to tie the SS...

Whole fresh off the vine vs Pellets

Off the vine you have to use right away. So only once a year can you brewlike that. If you. Mean leaf vs pellet, then it's all up to you. I like pellet for my boil additions and leaf for dry hopping. You have to use more leaf to get the same AA then if you use pellets.
