    Sassafras/sarsaparilla root beer recipe?

Did you use the actual root for the sassafras, or extract? If extract, how much? I cant seem to find sassafras bark for sale anywhere that has it in stock... Is it because of the FDA ban? Or is it a seasonal item? I have no idea...

    Dry DME vs Syrup

I highly suggest making it with the coriander and orange zest (from 2 medium/large oranges) if you hadn't planned on it already. It really makes the beer. You'll enjoy it. I made 3 batches for giveaways at my wedding. Here's the thread I started on the kit...

    Hard Root Beer recipe

You guys werent kidding about that active fermentation! I setup a blow-off into a second vessel and it went NUTS! Luckily my wife had the foresight to put the second vessel into a bigger bowl (just in case). That would have been a challenge to clean even for the steam cleaner with how sticky...

    Pina colada cider

I would sub coconut water for coconut cream (not the same as milk). You should even be able to get it organiz. I dont think the coconut water would impart much flavor. Maybe even coconut flakes/chips floating in primary.

    Hard Root Beer recipe

Yeah, I'm sure I messed something up somewhere. Oh well, not a big deal. I'll pay closer attention next time I make this. I was probably multitasking a bit too much while I put this together.

    Hard Root Beer recipe

I'm curious what your starting gravity? I'm wondering because I attempted your version as a gallon batch for the added gravity but ended up using the whole pound instead of half! I ended up with about 1.065 I'm going to use nottingham though so I doubt I'll get that low.

La Petite Orange - Northern Brewer

^What he said. With my NB kits, I typically dip the bottles into the wort to fill them with hot water, put the lid back on and shake (quickly but gently to avoid an exploding bottle of hot wort) and then pour everything in.

La Petite Orange - Northern Brewer

The kit doesnt actually include those items. It does tell you that you can add those adjuncts for a la petite orange, "blanche" but it's optional. I made this recipe and it was quite tasty. Enough so much that I bottled 200 for my wedding. I did include the zest as well as the coriander...
