    Sassafras/sarsaparilla root beer recipe?

I used "summer" sassafras and mine came out fine.

    Anyone seen these? (Shipping Materials)

Funny thing, I got word back from the trader and they were indeed, packaging from printer cartridges!

Just opened a Duchesse De Bourgogne

Agreed, it's a nice starting point to get an idea of the style without getting scared away, lol. Loving this New Glarus...

    Anyone seen these? (Shipping Materials)

Yeah, I need to call FedEx and give them a piece of my mind... Do you have a link to the cardboard ones? I like the plastic bubble type for ease of storage once I get my bottles home.

    Anyone seen these? (Shipping Materials)

Not only does the plastic seem more durable, but it basically suspends the bottle in air. To accomplish the same with bubble wrap would take 5 layers or so of the bubble wrap with small bubbles and probably 3 with the large bubbles. Even then it's very "squishy" and doesn't feel as secure.

    Bottle caps needed

If nobody wants the caps, I'll take em. Although I prefer a wide variety. Want to make a table AND a wall. Going to need a bunch!

Just opened a Duchesse De Bourgogne

If you havent tried New Glarus Wild Sour Ale, I suggest trying to get your hands on it. Delicious. Much better than the Duchess IMO, although Duchess is a great one, too.

    Bottle Conditioned Beers: Avoiding Sedimemt

I typically dont have a problem with this. I just pour gently and typically only leave a few milliliters at the bottom. I guess you could also just pour out two glasses right away. This is exactly what I did tonight with my cuvee-brut. Poured two snifters 3/4 full gently, laid the rest down...

    Perry same as Cider?

Perry is just the term for pear cider. I made some a little while back, albeit with unfiltered pear juice from Sprouts. Came out fantastic, actually. I made 1 gallon with enough dextrose to bring SG up to 1.065 fermented to 1.01 with montrachet wine yeast. Primed it with table sugar and it's...

    Anyone seen these? (Shipping Materials)

I checked uline, they have the bubble wrap pouch type bags, but not anything like this. I think these work better, much more of an "air cushion." I'd love to have a few of these for when I visit other states! If anyone else can chime in, that'd be great! Otherwise, I'll post as soon as I...

    Anyone seen these? (Shipping Materials)

Has anyone seen these and know where I can get them? I got a trade recently and the FedEx dude dropped the package OVER the fence (about 7') with 4 small format and 4 large format bottles in it. Not one break. These things are awesome!

    Hard Root Beer recipe

Finally got around to popping the caps and adding champagne yeast a few days ago. I was thinking my hard root beer might be TOO alcoholic, but as of today there's a bit of bubbles in my PET bottle and she seems to be filling up with gas, albeit slowly, so I think I'm in good shape. Will keep...

Split Batch IRS - "Dry Hopping" in Secondary

Cracked another bottle of my "Black Eye Stout!" with cocoa, vanilla and blackberries. The aroma that comes off is amazing! You definitely get the chocolate and roasted malt followed up by the dark fruit and vanilla sweetness. A few weeks later the blackberry flavor has come forward a bit more...

    Zombie Dust Availability

I just picked up a bottle of zombie dust and I was just thinking how fresh it could be since there's no sign of a bottling date. With that said, can someone shed some light on how often Zombie Dust is brewed? I asked the clerk if they were going to be stocking in on the regular (not sure if...

    Sassafras/sarsaparilla root beer recipe?

Quick update: I had a party on Saturday and was hesitant to serve the root beer due to the bitterness... Well a buddy of mine got sneaky and poured a glass for everyone at the end of the night & apparently with the time, the flavors melded and the bitterness went away! Crazy8 - you got...
