What was your initial investment into your home brew setup? How has it changed?

Nothing initially, was a fathers day gift this year from swmbo, but have probably spent about $500 since then upgrading to burner and kegs. Looking for a freezer to make into a fermentation chamber and then who knows from there.

    Military Peeps - Challenge Coins

I'd be in for one. Have a few, but my favorite is my Air Assault coin I got as a PFC at Ft Campbell. Some of the others are from Generals and CSM's, but the AA coin means the most.

Any health care professionals out there?

Or it could be the post op patients that get over medicated and then somebody panics and pushes the code blue button, nothing like running across the hospital in the middle of the night for someone that needs narcan.

Any health care professionals out there?

Currently working as a Respiratory Therapist at a smaller hospital just west of Indianapolis. Learned my trade in the Army and worked in HI for 6 yrs, before that I was doing Military Intelligence work. Agree with the others that most of the excitement is in the ER or ICU, but there can also...

    First BIAB, water volume question

Thanks for the quick answers, that's about what I was getting with Beersmith but was not sure I was using it correctly. My boil off rate is about 1 g/hr.

    First BIAB, water volume question

Going to do my first AG batch for a blonde ale with a 9.19lb grain bill and want to confirm that I need about 7.5 gallons to start. I know this is probably answered somewhere, but was unable to nail down a definite number using the search. Also have a question about the water/grain ratio...

How can I make a quick Cider batch?

I just made a gallon batch of the "5 day cider" recipe and it turned out rather good, had a bottle bomb because I think I added too much yeast. Every one that has drank it says it is good and it carbed up nicely.

5 gallon batch BIAB in 32qt pot

I was just getting ready to post this same question, looking at a fryer with a 35 qt pot and wanted to know if it was going to be big enough for 5 gallon BIAB batches. Thanks Greg

    How did you find us?

Was concerned about the fermentation on my first batch and did a google search and several hits came back from this site. Spent about a week or two just looking through different threads before finally signing up. Greg

    Adding priming sugar

Thanks, figured that it would work either way and just wanted to make sure.

    Adding priming sugar

Does it make a difference when the sugar mix is put in the bottling bucket? I just bottled my first batch and added the mix after the beer had been put in the bucket, wanted to make sure that it would still work fine. Thanks Greg

Wanted to say hi and thank you already, had some questions about my first brewing and found the answers here. After seeing the wealth of information here, had to get registered and start learning as much as I can.:ban: Greg
