    Excellent point Rico; so more like $6,500 - $10k after tax cost. In reality, the economic cost is the amount of the forgone sales, less bottling and other intermediary costs to take the brew from its current state to the shelves (including taxes, of course.) But we're just spitballing anyway...

    Yikes. If you add yeast to a sweet beverage like root beer and then bottle, you're very likely to have exploding bottles and root beet all over the places. You need a method to stop fermentation at the appropriate point (like pasteurization.) Yes, read up first for sure.

    I just did a 2-row/fuggles which was fine, though a touch boring. Also have Vienna / Mt Hood in the fermenter and initial tastings have seemed interesting.

    Respectfully, i do think you're a bit high. Bulk hops can usually be had for $1.25 - $2.00/oz almost always, and often under $1/oz. And that's from a retailer.
