    Heatstick = awesome!

    It looks like the package for the nut you found says that it is zinc coated. I do not believe that zinc coatings are food safe. You might want to check before using.

    How much do you drink?

    I average 2 12 oz brews or 4 oz glasses of wine per day, 7 days a week. The challenge is deciding which two each day! Probably the most I have drunk in a single day over the past 10 years was 5 drinks.

    Effect of temperature of fermentation?

I place the carboy in it, fill the pan with water, place two frozen water bottles in the water and then place a t-shirt over the carboy. The cold water wicks up the shirt and cools...

    Barley Crusher

    I love my BC. I only brew 5 gallon batches so I just crank it by hand, it only takes on average around 7-10 minutes of cranking to crush my grain bill.

    Do you support your LHBS?

    I also live in Lexington KY. And I support the closest thing we have to a LHBS. We have a chain of liquor stores that have a large selection of home brew supplies at two of their three locations in town. They stock just about any grain (including 55lb bags of base grains), most hop varieties...

    Do beer brewers brew wine too?

    I have made wine for several years but just started brewing beer this past Spring. Most of my wines take a minimum of 6 months. I enjoy brewing beer more because it takes more time initially and is ready sooner. Besides I love :D beer!
