    Tilt hydrometer SG

Great question. I assume it doesn’t do anything different, but I don’t know. I didn’t have an old iPhone (well, I did, but it was *really* old, pre-Bluetooth 4.0)

    Tilt hydrometer SG

Once you have the Raspberry Pi set up, you’ll receive a link to a locally hosted webpage. From there you can manage all of the changes and calibrations, etc. I picked up a Raspeberry Pi Zero W kit in amazing for $32. It took me 15 mins to set up. Easiest thing I’ve done in homebrewing.

Do you need a 1 off Stainless part built for your system? Let's discuss it.

Jay - how about a lid mounted CIP ball for cleaning out boil kettles after a brew day? I’ve got a BrewEasy and I *hate* cleaning it after a boil and would love to use a cip ball.

    Make IPA Clear Again

    Make IPAs bitter again?

    Make IPA Clear Again

Maybe dial back from a rolling boil to a simmer? I read it. All of it. I get that OP doesn’t want IPA associated with the hazy stuff. I read that. And I understand it. What I was responding to was your use of five bock subs as a means of educating the OP on how true diversity in sub...

Tilt questions - data logging process, imac pairing, etc

Honestly, I thought the same thing. But after watching the Tilt Pi setup videos on YouTube, I decided to give it a go. Seriously easy. Took me 15 minutes and I was up and running. I got a complete Raspberry Pi Zero W kit on Amazon for $32.

    Make IPA Clear Again

Ok. Two points to make here: 1) the fact that you’ve listed 5 bocks by their subcategory name proves the point. All I see the OP asking for is clarity in the category. IPA isn’t descriptive enough. When I order an IPA and get a NEIPA or Hazy IPA, I’m disappointed. The least we can do is get...

    INFECTION! Would you drink this?

To answer your question: nope. I would not drink that.

    Let’s Clarify the IPA space

There’s a great discussion happening in another category about https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/index.php?threads/Make-IPA-Clear-Again.663927/ I’ll add to that and share with you this article from our local Minnesota brew mag. IPA as a category has become muddied and unrecognizable as a...

    Make IPA Clear Again

I also come in peace. I want to quibble with your sense of relevance. Chefs and gastronomes are fond of telling us that we “eat with our eyes,” and I agree. Why would I want to eat something that looks nasty, or prepared in a dirty kitchen, but tastes amazing? I don’t. How food (and drink...

    Tilt hydrometer SG

I’m on my second brew with the tilt. I love it. I find it to be accurate and easy to use - especially if you like data. I’ve got mine connected to a Raspberry Pi running Tilt Pi, which feeds data to my Brewers Friend account. I’m out of town right now and can watch my fermentation numbers...

    Pyrex and borosilicate article

I just read this article detailing some issues with Pyrex and changes to their formula which can result in catastrophic failure of glassware due to thermal shock. Bottom line: make sure you’re using real borosilicate in your glassware, especially if you’re using Erlenmeyer flasks for yeast...

    Popular Podcasts for Homebrewers

Man this hits the nail on the head. I’m on a road trip and decided to download a few episodes ... I couldn’t make it through a single episode. First of all the topic was “Decanting Yeast” - it took 15 damn minutes of commercials and other stuff before we actually got to the topic. And once we...

Scored a free mini fridge - what would you do?

Doh! Good call. I’ve raised the temp. Thanks.

Scored a free mini fridge - what would you do?

It took me a while to get around to it, but I finally converted this mini fridge into a glycol chiller. As you can see, it does the job - glycol temps at 15F and I’m lagering in my conical! Amazing!! Thanks all!
