What to ask a brewery about their recipe

Be careful. I know with some of the breweries here in Ohio they guard their recipe's like it was made of gold. They DO NOT want you to clone it. They want you to buy theirs. Sure they may give you some hints. But, I've heard many a story that some places send you on a wild goose chase and or...

Worst Commercial Beer You've Ever Had?

The worst beer I had was when I went to a Cleveland Brown's/****sburgh Steelers game in the unholy ground in ****sburgh. I went, with my buddy, to some podunk bar in the bowels of ****sburgh. The bartender saw that I was wearing my Browns gear and bought me a beer. Needless to say, It was a...

    Brew Day = Good Times

Here in Ohio we usually do things a little different. I have a group of 3 other guys that make up our motley crew. We all bring more than a few beverages to "sample" and "learn from". Then we start the whole grain brewing process, start the food and kick on the TV for Baseball, Football and or...

Is this cheescloth worth using for brewing?

At the place where I get all my grains and goodies to brew, they have cheesecloth socks. One end is sewn together. Makes for SUPER easy hopping. Measure out the hops, put it in the sock, tie sock off, add as needed, enjoy tastey beverage!

Empty Fermenters, Need a new Brew to Please the girlfriend..

You guys are looking at the wrong beers. My last girlfriend wanted me to make her some kind of beer so I made a Chocolate Stout. I told her I made her a dark heavy beer but she would like it. She doubted the fact that she would like something so dark and heavy but i convinced her to drink some...

    kegging question

I did this. I let the beer sit in the keg for a month or so. Then I carbonated it and let it sit. It sat for about 2 month's IN A COOL DRY PLACE, and then tossed it into my kegerator. I tried my first glass and it came out great. One suggestion is that when you first carborate it...vent off the...
