Other Free Blichmann "Brewtility" 3-in-1 Tool

Yeah, I got mine last week. I guess they figured out how to sort through the real homebrewers.

    Table size?

Kal recommends 24x60 on his website: http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/brew-stand. He does not have one with a backsplash. I'm slowing acquiring things for my build and got a 24x60 with 4 inch backsplash for a good price at webstaurantstore.com. I went with the backsplash simply because...

New, would love guidance on kezzer build

    1. A 5lb tank will work for commercial beer for quite a while since it's already carbed up. I, however, prefer not having to have it refilled often, so I went with a 20lb tank. I also place my tank outside so I have more room for beer inside the keezer. Keeping the tank inside will also mess...

    Carbonation

Yeah, sounds like it's the rinse aid in the dishwasher or some soap residue from washing the glass. Try rinsing the glass with hot water and cleaning it with just your fingers and the water. Then pour the beer in and see if you have an issue.

    Lost aquarium stone in wort

I assume you sanitized it before putting it in the wort, so I think you'll be fine.

Which Brew kit to start with

Larger pots allow you to do a full boil. With boil-off rates, you generally need to start with 6.5 to 7 gallons of pre-boil wort to get down to the 5 - 5.5 gallons you are looking to finish with. That's for an average brew (OG 1.050), if you want to make strong stuff (Belgian Tripel), you may...

    Yeast Washing WLP500 Trappist...for what?

I've used WLP530 in an APA. It turned out fine. I've also done dubbels and tripels with it. I'd vote for secondary and then bottling. I like to let my big beers sit and try them over time, so bottling is the way to go.

Which Brew kit to start with

Do you have a local homebrew shop near you? I visited one near me to get an equipment kit. The benefit of this is you also get to talk with the owner, get your questions answered, and have another resource. I found their prices competitive with the online purveyors. I also bought a 9 gallon pot...

    Controller help

The electricbrewery link is the famous Kal control panel. If you search these forums for "Kal Clone" you'll find a lot of people building their own panel and really liking it. The Keggle one is new but at a great price. It seems to be fairly similar to Kal's panel. I wish there was more...

4 prong dryer vs twist lock receptacle

CP is most likely Control Panel. I don't have an electric rig (yet) but it seems most people do what you describe. GFCI in breaker box to 4 dryer plug. Then, 4 dryer plug to twist-lock plug. Twist-lock goes into control panel.

    Lock Haven/Bellefonte area

There is a new club in Williamsport - Billtown Brewer's Guild. I'm from Mifflinburg and am a member of the PA Aler's which is more south than your location. If you get to Williamsport, you should try Riepstine's Pub and the Bullfrog Brewery.

    High gravity

According to the Wyeast page, that yeast isn't the best at attenuation. Did you use a starter or just the smack pack?

    Carbonating In Bottles.

Are you priming in the bottling bucket or in individual bottles? I add my priming sugar solution to the bucket, then rack on top, then bottle. I get pretty consistent results.
