    Silly workplace acronyms

I work for the same "Company" as Yuri and I agree, we have far too many acronyms. A few of the more common ones.... BOHICA= Bend over here it comes again STS= so to speak RAVE= rally after vomiting excessively

    US Beer Drinking Team

I was a member in 2004. I even have my card to prove it. I just re-upped. Waiting for the confirmation e-mail to activate my account. Not sure what the purpose of this Team is, but it is a conversation starter to whip out the card and prove you are part of the team.

Got yet another fantastic package today. I think it is from Jonnio because of the AL address. 6 bottles of beer, 2 "N", 2 "A", and 2 "H" and a champagne bottle. I am assuming the champagne bottle is Apfelwein, and I am guessing that A= Ale, H=Heffe, and N= no clue there!! Just going to...

Who are the Albuquerque area Brewers?

I am on the West side of Albuquerque, near Unser and Ourey. I know BrewPastor is in Corrales, and if I remember correctly, CptmyCpt is in Albuquerque as well. I would be very interested in getting to know some of the local brewers and learning everything I can from you guys. Perhaps we can...

During my 10.5 months over there getting a package from home was one of the high points of the week. Stupid stuff, like recordings of tv shows with the commercials still there, were actually very very popular. Most areas have AFN so there is TV, but amazingly enough you do start to miss a...

We turned into a Jeep forum!

Jeep was the "dog" on the old black and white Popeye cartoons. He was so popular back then, urban legend has it that is where the name for the vehicle came from.

    Low Cost Cooling Tank.

This cooler is on my back porch on the North side of my house. Right outside under an awning. It gets morning sun, and is shaded in the pm. So far Albuquerque temps have been around 95-100 degrees and I am easily keeping temps in the bath at 63ish degrees.

    Low Cost Cooling Tank.

My BGE package was right at $800 for everything and I still need to get the table built. They are expensive but worth every penny. I wish there was an Eggfest in Albuquerque. It would have saved me a couple of hundred bucks, but it was deployment money so I figured it was a good excuse to...

    Low Cost Cooling Tank.

I got the egg from Patio and Hearth in Albuquerque. Of course I had to get a few eggcessories ( plate setter, pizza stone, cast iron grate, ash tool, v-rack for ribs, and a bag of BGE charcoal). simply the best grill/smoker out there, in my opinion. Did some ribs and they were perfect, did...

    Low Cost Cooling Tank.

So, does it work? Here is a pic of the digital thermometer I have in the water. Holding rock steady at 63 degrees. Note the cool, liquid-free airlock. I grabbed a couple from Midwest ( I think ) because I figured that having to remember to keep the airlock full of liquid during a long...

    Low Cost Cooling Tank.

After reading a bunch of posts about using different methods to keep fermenting products cool, I decided to use a few things I had around the garage and make a cooling tub for less than $20. Note, cost will be more if you do not have the plastic tubs. One more thing, I took these pictures...
