visiting Killeen, Texas from Western Canada. what to drink?

I ended up trying a few from shiner, zeigenboch amber, race's ugly pug, and saint Arnolds Elisa IPA. Really solid IPA, right up my alley. Thanks for all the input!

want to smoke meat, etiquette in a townhouse?

I live in a row style townhouse, and would like to get into smoking meat. Is there any way to do this without pissing off my neighbour's?

    Ministry and beer

+1 I was about to say just this! Thanks for this thread! I had already worked through this topic for myself, but there is a lot of food for thought here!

visiting Killeen, Texas from Western Canada. what to drink?

Haha, I will try not to judge based on Killeen. It's pretty shady here. Although I drove through Western Texas from Phoenix to get here and it was pretty boring. Didn't really give me a good first impression ;). I went to specs earlier tonight. Realized there was a ton I didn't recognize and...

visiting Killeen, Texas from Western Canada. what to drink?

I'm here in Killeen for a few days visiting family. There's a ton of beer I've never tried from down south and can't get from where I'm from. What to try? I've tried shiner now. But don't know what else is worth buying. Please advise!

Funny things you've overheard about beer

The project manager on a job site I'm working on heard I brewed beer. He proceeded to tell me how when he was tree planting, the natives showed him how to mix sugar and water in a 5 gallon bucket, add bread yeast, and put it in the sun for a week. Then you can scoop it right out of the bucket...

Copper Manifold for Igloo 62-Quart Cooler

Nice looking manifold! I did something similar and I used a jig saw with a metal blade. I pre measured on a long stick of copper where each piece would be cut, then clamped both ends onto a scrap piece of plywood set on some saw horses. I then could blow through all the slits in about 20 min...

    Alcohol or hops vs kidney

Its the alcohol, and your dehydrated. If you make sure to drink more water than beer when you cut loose, you'll have less of a hangover and you won't hurt as bad.

    carbonation for competition

I keg, and rarely bottle, when I do I use a homebuilt bottling device courtesy of HBT. I'm thinking about entering some competitions, but because I care all my beers at the same level, and don't get perfect carbing when I bottle, im worried that even if I send a good beer, bad carbonation...

    New: Budweiser Black Crown

It would hurt, both going in and coming out. But dumping a gold brick after buying a $2 beer is a pretty good ROI in my mind...

    Wet shaving thread.

Ok, so as long as I store them in their wrappers I'm good. I have really coarse hair and don't get more than a few shaves with a blade. Maybe this will change with the feathers.

    Wet shaving thread.

Will the blades degrade on their own over time?

    Wet shaving thread.

I've got a sample pack with some feathers. I've heard multiple people say the feathers are the best, so I'm waiting to use them until after I get the technique down better and I can appreciate the difference in blades.

    Wet shaving thread.

My wife got me a merkur for Christmas, and I love it! Using it is quite a learning curve, but I'm having a lot of fun. Still get razor burn a little, but I think I'm still pressing too hard and my lather needs some work. Already much better than my little electric shaver though.

how long should the wort foam last for?

I was scanning through the threads quick and saw a thread about fart foam. I was intrigued. I'm now here and realize two things. One, there is no discussion of fart foam. Two, I should read slower when I'm tired.

    differences in brewing costs

Fair enough, I didnt think about all the fancy additions. I don't generally play around with anything but the basics, so spending $50 on cherries didn't cross my mind ;). I usually bulk purchase base malts, then buy some specialty stuff by the lb. I buy hops in bulk online, and yeast from the...

    differences in brewing costs

I'm noticing a lot of people saying how they have spent $70-$90 on ingredients for a HG all grain batch. I live on the prairies, so maybe I'm lucky, and can buy 50lb bags of 2-row for $22, and even if I'm buying specialty malts by the lb from my LBHS, I'm not paying more than a $2.50ish a lb...

    When to drink

How long did you age it before? It will be carbonated in about three days of that's what your asking, but if you didn't age it before, the beer might be a little green...

    Sanitizing Dry Hops?!?

I've never sanitizer them and haven't had an issue. I sanitize the bag I put them in, but thats it. I understand that the hops are pretty much sanitary already due to the acids in them. They are a preservative in the beer after all. But that could all be my brain that hasn't turned on yet today.
