I went to Lagunitas and picked up this Gem. I don't know why , but I have been collecting bottle openers lately. Its a cool brewery and I couldn't pass it up.
delishify is a cool word. I agree about star san. I started out using bleach and it sucks. Star san is your best friend. As far as all grain goes its easy once you get set up. It may also help to read Palmers Book:How To Brew. He makes it simple. I highly recommend it. Good luck!
Hi guys, Just ran through ten pounds of pale malt with my new mill set at .039. There is a little more flour than I am used to, so I was wondering what you all think? As a side note, I used the Dewalt 10.5 amp drill and it worked like a champ.
Yeah the wallet kept me from getting one too. I thought if I could mill for free at the LHBS why pay the cash? But lately my efficiency has been all over the place so I finally broke down. How do the router speed controls work?
Finally broke down and bought a grain mill. I picked up the MM2 2.0 and slapped it together with some 2/4s. The mill seems pretty beefy. I am going to power it with a Dewalt 10.5 amp drill. I just hope the RPMs are not too high.
"if all else fails, just lower your standards" of course I was kidding! I agree with Polboy, brew what you like. I brew high gravity ambers because I love them and I cant buy anything like them. A club would also be a great idea. I have been considering this myself. Good luck!
Brewing Beer is a tradition. When my Mother gave me my Grandfathers hydrometer I was honored. Its worth figuring out. But if all else fails, just lower your standards.
If you have the room, I have a wood 3 tier and love it. They are cheap and fun to make. Brew days are fun and not complicated, but everyone finds their own system they like.
