    Star San PH

I am constantly seeing people saying that if the star san turns cloudy its not effective. or Star san will last longer using distilled water instead of tap water. Where does this knowledge come from? I mix my star san with tap water. The PH stays at 2-2.5 for months. whats cloudiness have...

    FastFerment conical

I saved the contents of the second ball. The first ball was so packed with trub and yeast it didn't look to have any liquid at all in it. That second ball sat refrigerated for three weeks. Last Thursday I poured the beer off the top and pitched the remaining slurry into my starter which...

Leukass I saw a stand made from pvc that wouldn't take to much to make. You could do that for your chamber petty easily.

    FastFerment conical

I thought I'd try a different tactic. After filling the fermenter, what if you wait for the initial trube to settle in the ball. Change out to a clean ball then pitch the yeast? Wouldn't the yeast collected during fermentation be cleaner, and less chance of introducing oxygen after fermentation?

what can i spray on aphids that won't ruin my nearly ready to pick cones?

Try spraying the ladybugs with a little clear soda like 7up mixed with water before you release them. That will prevent them from flying away right away. This will wash away soon. Hopefully they'll be interested in the afids by then.

Husband complaining about my Home Brewing.

I'll throw my two cents in. First I'll have to agree with those who suggested becoming better organized. It's tough in an apartment. Now you did say he enjoys craft brews that are commercially made. Your going too need to make a style he likes. That will help.

    Coffee porter

When I made my coffee porter I saved brewed coffee in a gallon milk jug over several days until I had a gallon. just store in you refrigerator until ready to use. Add coffee to secondary. Had a good coffee flavor. Of course this only works if your household doesn't kill off the morning coffee.

    Another love thermostat wiring question.

You can make a jumper wire to connect both screws but you shouldn't have to. Outlets will come with a metal jumper that connects both screws unless you break that jumper. The screws are color coded on the outlet as well. the brass color screw is your black wire. the silver color screw is...

Guide to set internal chest freezer thermostat to >32F; Eliminate external control

I tried this with my new haier freezer from Costco. Ended up turning the screw right out of the spring. My attempt to rectify that problem resulted in breaking the controller further. Ended up buying a Love controller on Amazon.
