BrewPi Remix – What’s Old is New Again

Can anyone help me understand why when I attempt to display the output of brewpi in a frame it doesn't populate the graph? I wanted to display brewpi and tiltbridge side by side. but all I can get is this. if I hit the refresh button in the beer profile that will update and populate the bottom...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

If you find an answer to this I'd be interested. I tried a similar frame experiment placing BPR and Tiltbridge side by side. tiltbridge loads fine, but BPR doesn't load the beer panel.

TiltBridge - Tilt-to-WiFi Device for Tilt Hydrometer

Did you ever post a fix for this? I compared the script on your master sheet to the original from Noah, but they are different enough that the cause wasn't obvious to me. The data entries differ from the report and chart entries. 12/11/2020 9:01:47 44,174.50 1.031999946 68 Black Imperial...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

Odd This looks like its communicating at 6:06:56 Could be an intermittent connection. This was the last entry from your err log. based on this I expect it should be working. Are there more instances of it failing after this? I'm still suspecting a cable if its intermittent. What I don't...

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

Are you using the arduino? How is the USB connection between the arduino and the raspberry pi? I did have a USB cable failure cause me all kinds of grief, if you have a different cable to try, try that. Look at the output from the stderr log for clues This is what I get under normal...

All of my beers are bad.

I looked it up on a google search. Their chart said 201.5 I figured the point 5 could be dropped. But I guess rounding up makes sense.

All of my beers are bad.

Another thought, you say you heat to 158 then add grain, Did you verify the accuracy of your thermometer? It may be reading 158 but actually be something else all together, set you thermometer in boiling water to verify it reads 212 F. Oops, I see you in Boulder, make that 201F.

All of my beers are bad.

Send a sample of your water to Ward labs for analysis. Then with the information you receive back you can determine if your water needs any adjustments. Once you know what is in your water then you can use a tool such as Brun water to help make adjustments. If it isn't a water issue, then...

The two will stop logging at the same time, although they report somewhat different signal strength.

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

When I check signal I'm consistently seeing high 60's to low 70's That's not bad. Besides, I have never had a signal issue using the Tilt app to log to google sheets, or logging on my Brewpi install. No I think this is a limitation to the logging routine, Like its a full buffer or something...

I'm running a new install of Fermentrack, on a new install of Buster. I found that Tilt graphing tends to stop after a few hours. So I tried the debugging option I see this I ran this sudo setcap cap_net_raw,cap_net_admin+eip /usr/bin/python3.7 No response. Also no change in debugging...

Is your original micro SD card intact? Couldn't you clone your old card to the new card, then get back to running what was fine for years?

Cleaning in prep for an all grain batch, and found this.

I hear ya. I still use the old kettle and propane. Fairly easy cleanup. But since I use a counter flow chiller, that gets a PBW solution circulated through it for however long it takes me to clean other gear, and get water boiling for the rinse. Then a boiling water rinse cycle.

    A Brewpi Remix Build

I had bad luck with that sainsmart relay, when it failed I changed to a SSR thats been running for years.

Cleaning in prep for an all grain batch, and found this.

When you say cleaned with boiling water, do you add PBW or something as a cleaning agent, or just water? Wort can be pretty sticky, so just boiling water may not be getting it all off the inside of the SS tubing. Just a guess. I normally have to give my kettle a good scrub to get the...

How to get rid of that "homebrew" flavor?

Fermentation temperature. You need to monitor the temperature of the wort as it's fermenting. Being in a room that's a certain temp isn't good enough, what you want to do is control the temp of the wort. That's going to make a big difference.
