    Small batch fermentation rate??

I have noticed the same thing, too. I use a 5 gallon carboy for my 2.5 gallon experiments. Last one went fine (Biermunchers Centenial Blonde-should have made 10 gallons!), second one is doing the same thing. Followed the OG and FG and all was well.

How much (if at all) is the beer going to change in flavor in the bottle?

Brewed a vanilla cream ale that, after 2 oz. of vanilla, was waaaayyy to vanilla-ey. After a couple weeks, better. After a month, still too much vanilla, but definitely drinkable. As a matter of fact, I'm having one right now!. Brewed the Red from BB, and it was pretty green initially, but...

    First all grain beer suggestions

Biermunchers Centenial Blonde. Love it, light crisp, and refreshing!

    Two tier brew stand

I was considering the same thing, since I had a brand new pump sitting around that is identical. However, after reading a few posts, the concerns were 1) The plastic is not food safe and 2) The lubricant used inside it is not food safe. I fixed number 2 by removing the plate, removing the...

    Promoting home brewing in Wisconsin

Okay, I need some input. Obviously, some of the greatest minds of homebrewing are gathered here, because of the volumes I have learned by lurking around the discussions! I have been brewing for a little while, and this summer, my wife and I are hosting a party. Cookout, music, and at least 3...

Attempt at a "Historic" Norse Beor

Subscribed. Let us know on the progress on this one. I would like something in my folder for my nordic heritage....Danish and Sweedish!

First all grain. Recipe ideas? Make it difficult

Gotta agree with Brickout. Even when you mess it up (as I did....), it still turns out great! Anything I keep wanting to drink when it's warm and flat prior to bottling....gotta be good, especially if I get it right next time!

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

First attempt at AG, seemed to be an epic failure. Temps all over the place. BIAB not working for me. Sparge water temp off. Did what I could as I went along (think...Titanic....). OG way low. Picked up a pound of DME for the hell of it. Sample tasted pretty astringent, figured I messed it...

Culligan 5gal water jug for carboy?

Interesting concept. I have been using bottled water to brew with, and just found 4 gallon RO water for a home water dispenser for $5.00. It comes in a handy container shaped just like a small Culligan bottle. I am experimenting with recipies for 2.5 gallons, and was looking for a small...

Opening a Pub / Feedback please!

Quality! I live in a resort location in southern Wisconsin, and it is so hard to find a pub or bar that can offer high quality food. My wife and I both cook quite a bit, so I like to think we have a decent palate, not too snobby! Try to find a place that can offer a decent grilled chicken...

    Opening a Brewpub

A new brewpub opening in WI? How about some intel for those of us that live here? PM me if you would like. I would be more than happy to help them by drinking some of their beer!
