    Brew Hauler fail

Milk crates are the easiest and safest in my opinion. I've never had a worry using one. I thought about the brew straps. Once I saw one, no way.

    Hop Spider Materials

I got them at a brick and mortar. Just walked in and asked. I think the three bolts and 6 nuts were like $12.00. The SS garbage disposal ring was on sale at Lowes for $4.00.

    Hop Spider Materials

Here's one I built with a garbgae disposal ring and some stainless steel bolts and nuts from Fastenal. Works great and all stainless.

We no need no stinking beer gun...

Well, I used the BMBF for the first time yesterday! It worked great! I probably wasted about 2 bottles worth of beer trying to get all the settings right and figure out what I'm doing. Thats OK though, chalk it up to learning. Next time, I shouldn't have any problems. It really is simple!:mug:

^^^What Revvy Said^^^ Read that thread!!! It helped me soooo much. I've never had any problems bottling. 3 weeks AT LEAST!

5 gal or 6.5 gal carboys

Go with the 6.5 gallon. You won't regret it. If you stay in this hobby, you find that you'll want to do 6 gal. batches that end up with 5.5 gals. in your fermentor and then end up with a full 5 gals. to bottle or keg. A 5 gal. won't work. The headspace is no problem for fermentation. Buckets...

Can you Brew It recipe for Stone Arrogant Bastard

I'll go back and listen to it again. I think you're right though. I looked up Old Ale on the BJCP and that makes sense. Especially with the Special B giving it that nice "raiseny" flavor. Thanks for the input!

Can you Brew It recipe for Stone Arrogant Bastard

Alright! This brew is in the keg and has been carbing up now for two weeks. FG was 1.015 which ended at 7.5%. I had my first pint last night. I'm very pleased how it turned out. As a matter of fact, I think I'm going to enter it in an upcoming competition, at least for the feedback. The...

We no need no stinking beer gun...

Dremel tool makes it soooo easy. Took me about 1 minute. Then I brought it in the house and held it under flame for about 2 seconds and "glassed: it up. Now it's perfect.

Everybody Knockin' On Buffalo Wild Wings

I eat at BWW at least once a week and I think the commercial is awesome! Wings and Beer should be a food group all by itself! To think that they even thought about us homebrewers to make a commercial like that is cool.

    First Time Keger

There is nothing at all wrong with this setup. I bought the same one a few weeks ago and have my first keg sitting in it. I did buy different lines because the lines it comes with are too short. You can always replace the tower later if you want to go with two taps. I'm lovin' it!

    Opened early

When I bottle my beer, I don't even THINK of touching it for 3 weeks. And they get even better after 4-6 weeks. Certainly not carbed at 1 week. Be Patient!

    Draft tower cooling

I use a 13-14" peice of 1/2" copper tubing. It fits perfectly in the tower and I run my beer line through it. It extends about 2" into the refridgerator compartment, which cools it to temperature and keeps the line cool up into the tower. Works great and is simple. I only have a single tap...

Do any of you guys know of any good kegging/pressure threads to help me learn how to keg??:D Seriously, I just finished all 609 posts!!! BobbyM, you started a great thing here. And all of you guys who tried and perfected these methods...:mug: I just got my first kegerator this past...

    Bleach for sanitation??

I used to use bleach all the time. Never had a problem with it affecting the taste of my beer. I was always a clean freak and rinsed and used it how it was supposed to be used. It is cheap and plentiful. Thank God for Star San!!! Soooooo much easier and it lasts forever. Why do all the...

Can you Brew It recipe for Stone Arrogant Bastard

I think pretty good. I used 1oz instead of the 24 grams (about .85 oz.), all Chinook, and whirlpooled for the flameout. I'm hoping that adding a touch more will cause it to mellow into AB's profile. We'll see...
