Can you Brew It recipe for Stone Arrogant Bastard

I just brewed this the past weekend. Wow! I did the 90% 2-Row and 10% Special B. I used a 2.5 liter starter and it took off. My SG was 1.072. The smell and taste was, I think, so close to what AB tastes like. Of course I'll have to wait and see what fermentation does, but If it goes how I...

    Mash Tun Manifold Suggestions

Hey junior... what Reaver is saying is to take a piece of hose (a couple of feet long, maybe), and make sure the DRAIN end of the hose is below your cooler. Put your cooler on a table or a bench and the END of your drain hose in the bottom of a bucket. That will create the siphon that should...

    Beginner HELP Understanding Specific Gravity

I follow the Revvy philosophy: 3 weeks at 70 degrees!!! It always works. Check one at a week or two if you are weak (:)), but after 3 weeks for a normal ale you'll be fine.

Beerdoctor5 - I got mine at Home Depot in their "create-a-bolt" package. You get about 5 and it was only about $4. I have an extra that I would be glad to send if you don't find any.

One or two good 6'ers from S.E. coastal USA

If you like really good IPA's, try "Hoppyum" from Foothills Brewery in Winston-Salem, NC. Also for some good local breweries that have a fairly wide distribution here in SC, try RJ Rockers, Thomas Creek (their "Up the Creek IPA is awesome!), and Westbrook, which also has some really good brews...

    Kegging recomendations?

Check out Midwest Supplies 2 keg setup. I've been looking at it myself and it seems to be the best price around. The one I'm looking at is $284.00, comes with 2 refurbished ball lock kegs, a double dual regulator, CO2, and lines. I've been looking at everybody else online as well and can't...

    heat source for fermentation fridge?

Thanks, Juan. That's kind of what I thought. It's only a single stage so I'll have to juggle between heating and cooling. I do like the idea of some kind of fan to keep the air moving around though.

    heat source for fermentation fridge?

I have, what may be a really stupid question. I just built the paint can lamp. Very easy. I have a Ranco controller. I have no problem keeping a carboy set at 50 or so degrees. Now I have plugged in my lamp to the Ranco and turned the refrigerater temp all the way up. I would like to get...

Drove 1.5 hours to a HBS to get Vinator and it doesn't mount on the drying tree...??

I have the same setup you have. I would NOT want the vinator on top of the tree. The bottles would get in the way as you load them. I set mine on the counter, give the bottles a couple of squirts and put them on the tree out of the way. Very easy!
