American IPA My 2-time gold winning American IPA

Kegged up my second batch. It's delicious. FG came in at 1.010 so I got about 5% ABV. Not bad. Will be making this in the future for sure.

Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer Vanilla Caramel Cream Ale

Thinking of brewing this up tomorrow. Got a couple questions. Could I use cascade or williamette hops for this? I saw somewhere earlier in the thread that someone used cascade but they never said how it turned out. But I have both in the freezer at home and would like to use em up. And could I...

Looking to save some money on a couple glass carboys. If anyone has any for sale let me know! Living in southern Massachusetts.

American IPA My 2-time gold winning American IPA

I ended up with a 1.055 OG. I think it is something I'm doing wrong with my mash. Or my set up has really bad efficiency. I am thinking of trying to compensate with a bit more grain and batch sparging. I usually fly sparge which I thought was more efficient. I just got beer smith so I will...

Grey Lady (Cisco Brewers) out of Nantucket

I've actually picked up those ingredients in preparation for trying this myself. Through some research I found clove is used also. But if he said only those 2 he obviously knows better. Very interested to hear how you make out. I will post also if I come up with something.

Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

I did add the Amylase for 7 days. I ended up kegging it last night. Still delicious and potent enough for me!

Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

A week later and still 1.010. Anything else I can do to help up the abvs? edit. If there is nothing more I can do, would it matter if I kegged it for tomorrow? It tastes really good but I don't wanna mess with it if it has a chance of getting better.

Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

Yeah I think you're right about the grain. I think I fudged my mash a bit. I added about 4 gallons instead of the 2 it calls for. I was worried it wasn't enough water. I dunno if that makes a big difference or not. I ended up with less than 5 gallons actually, which I thought would help me out...

Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

Just transferred to secondary. 1.010 before adding amalyse. OG was 1.020, low compared to the recipe. I'm expecting low abv which sucks. About 3%, assuming a good 2ndary ferment. It started action 45 mins after the transfer. Tastes amazing though. Me and my cousin both enjoyed the sample...

American IPA My 2-time gold winning American IPA

Mine is the same way. Lots of hop up front with a feint after taste. I have no issue with it though. Delicious beer.

American IPA My 2-time gold winning American IPA

So I tapped the keg a couple days early just cause I couldn't wait any longer. Came out amazing even with my mistakes. It could still use another week I think to age a bit. But I am so happy with the results. Look forward to brewing it again very soon. By far my favorite beer I've brewed thus...

Grey Lady (Cisco Brewers) out of Nantucket

It's a local beer(for me). I'm looking for an all grain recipe, preferably 5 gallon batch but will take anything if someone has something close. This beer is delicious and I'd like to get it brewed! Thanks in advance!

American IPA My 2-time gold winning American IPA

Well I feel foolish. I have been reading through this thread again and stumbled upon a post in it mentioning that the app for ios cuts off the top of the recipe. I of course am using said app. Man I wish I had realized that before. Thanks everyone for the help! New question though. Anyone...

American IPA My 2-time gold winning American IPA

Thanks for your reply. I'm still pretty new to brewing so I appreciate it. After reading your post I feel pretty confident all will be good. I wasn't sure when I should be taking gravities. I am fermenting at about 68 degrees. I didn't see a specific temperature to ferment at on the recipe.

American IPA My 2-time gold winning American IPA

So I brewed this up yesterday. I ended up with a 1.062ish gravity, which I'm not sure is good or not? I also screwed up and added fuggles at 30 mins instead of chinook cause I grabbed the wrong bag. So I added chinook at 15. I also only did a 60 min boil. Color was darker than I thought but I...
