    Hi all. I dry hopped my primary last night, I used marbles to which I thought was heavy enough to pull the hops down but it is floating on top. Any advise on weather I could rich my bag out and add more weight? All sanitised of course. I've used whole hops. Thanks

    Cheers people. It seems that a 4 or 5 gal is best suited. I have a gas stove. Having a burner and doing it in the garden is not an option as in England it rains a lot lol.     I haven't really got the money to buy a bigger pot so was hoping I could do it in the one I got. It would be a partial. I might give it a go and see how it turns out, then maybe get a bigger pot. Cheers people

    Newbie brewer after advice on ale recipes

    I'm recently new to brewing and I found YouTube a very good place learn. Craigtube has some good videos on adding hop teas and steeping grains as a partial extract. Steeping pre weighed grains and adding LME is my next step. Good luck.

    I do want to get into partial mash but I think I'll take my time and find a good kit to do, then once I get the hang of that I'll move on. Cheers people. This seems to be a great resource and has helped me so far

    It's a shiremaker kit. 1.7kg LME, 1kg dextrose. 5 gallon batch. OG 1052 FG 1008. Bottled after 7 days at 24c (75f aprox). It's not a well known kit. Maybe I'll stick to the well known kits. I got a coopers ipa on ATM. Will be dry hopping too

    Priming bottles....

    I used card drops for my 1st three brews. I have some DME left over from a batch I'm currently fermenting. Would it be ok to use the DME as priming agent? It is a brew enhancer which is 50/50 DME/dextrose. And I'm brewing a IPA

    I de label bottles but it can be time consuming. I might just skip this now as I'm the only person who drinks out of them. It whats on the inside that counts!
