    American black and tan?

What are anyone's thoughts on an American style Black and Tan. Like a hoppy american stout and and maybe an apa? I just was thinking about earlier and was wondering if anyone tried before or if I'm onto an original idea.

No and no. You can't tell from the picture but there's a fair amount of haze in this beer.

Thinking of brrwing a #9 type beer.

For the extract wait till bottling and pull a small measured sample say like 6 Oz then add extract till sample is desired flavor then extrapolate the sample size to the batch size and add that amount to the beer

should there be this sludge at the bottom?

It's not sugar. It's yeast, break material, and hop debris. It should continue to compact and settle.

Best Label Removing Method Ever? I think so.

I have been bringing a couple gallons of water to a boil or close to boiling and add some oxyclean free and dump that into a cooler with the bottles in them. Seal it up for like two hours. Labels even difficult ones just float off.

    Aerating hours after pitching.

I would worry about it to much. Maybe swirl the carboy a little you rouse the yeast a bit. Should take off by tonight or tomorrow morning.
