    Keggerator

Sounds like yours is the same as mine. Do what I did... sand the outside and clear-coat it, and scrub out the rust and corrosion inside and epoxy/enamel it. Here are photos.

    east coast cornies?

I had good (well, decent) luck with brewersdiscount.com too - the kegs came pressurized, but now I have a bad pressure-release valve, and when I call, no one answers. I ordered online and they shipped fast, but now I need to ask if they have a cheap (or free) lid, and 2 more kegs. They were...

    DIY Conical Fermenter

I have a few questions for you Yuri... Why did you decide to leave the corny-top off? I feel as though that would have some greatly added benefits. What are your opinions now of the toledo lids? Is it sealing ok? How did you end up attaching your legs? kvh

    Another good use for Starsan

Alas, I just soaked a Red Stripe bottle for 3 weeks... nothin'. The red ink came off a little, but the white is stuck on. Oh well... kvh

    Regulator Wall Mount Hose?

As promised, here are those photos... http://www.flickr.com/photos/8503402@N08/943339338/ It's a 5# tank, crammed into the back of my kegerator with 4 regulators, and overall, (not in the photo however), 50' of hose.. kvh

    Regulator Wall Mount Hose?

Khirsah17, I don't have any photos with me right now, but for my setup, I had to mount my primary regulator upside down on my regulator (the gages are on the bottom, upside down). Furthermore I had to change out the cheap bal valve they provided with it for a 90 degree threaded barb fitting...

    Regulator decision?

I bought mine from Micromatic, (I'll have photos of it up next week - i'm out of town). I bought this one, but had to mount the thing upside down and change the ball valve to a 90 threaded barb (again photos + explanation later) to make it all fit in the space I had for it, but it does... I...

    Beer Packaging

Sam Calagione from DFH learned, after getting angry letters from the USPS, to first send with a private carrier (Fed Ex, UPS, etc), and also to label them as "yeast samples" when he was required to by the carrier... That solved his problem. And, as far as I recall, it's not actually illegal to...

    Hefeweizen question

Someone at my LHB Club offered up a Hefe for the tasting exactly 2 weeks from brew date. He kegs, which makes it easier to adjust the pressure (no bottle bombs) and as I recall, it was fresh tasting without being green... Very good. As for letting yeast sit, Arturo7, I've heard people...

Need a new challenge or something!

*off topic!* Macs run Keynote (part of the iWork family), which run PowerPoint natively... If you have the iWork suite, it'll work just fine. BP - I'd love a copy of that PowerPoint presentation!

    Using ice to cool wort?

I have used cubed (standard bags of) ice before to cool my wort. Once, mostly for entertainment, I purchased a large, single block of ice to cool with - same volume of ice as a bag, just one giant piece. We noticed that with a bag of cubed ice, the larger surface area dramatically increased...

    Cheap CO2 Distributor (almost)

Just a quick FYI, I ran across a '4-way air line' splitter at Big Lots today. It was a milled piece of aluminum with 4 quick-release (female) couplings up the side and a brass plug at the end. It was just waiting to be taken apart, have ball/check valves installed for beer. I think it was...

Cheap pump for a Brew Rig

Forgive me if this has been posted here before, but has anyone considered (or already shot-down) the idea of using an in-line, drill powered pump for moving wort? I just ran across one at Big Lots (always love the cheap stores for unusual tools). I can't find it online, but it is basically a...

Beer Meister on Craig's List -- good find?

I'm not at home right now to check my dimensions, but I'm guessing they're similar. Just an FYI - I had to rig a crazy fix to my regulator because with the valves and connections on it, on my tank (don't ask me what size the tank is, it came with it and I haven't had to refill it yet) - it...

    yeast starter size

I use a quart milk bottle to make mine, and don't even top off the thing. Basically, I believe if you can get it bubbling for a few hours before it goes into the fermenter, you're in good shape.

Apple Juice on a Wheat Yeast Cake?

I did just that, but washed my yeast before dumping it back onto the apple juice. The only reason I did was because we'd just finished an over-hoped Liberty Ale clone and the hops were very pungent. Washing was easy, I followed the directions from the wiki, using 22oz bombers to let it...

I'm pretty sure you're referring to Ryan Air... damn, I miss Europe... kvh.

Beer Meister on Craig's List -- good find?

I bought one very similar to this. It was a Beverage Air brand, but otherwise looked mostly identical. I paid $250 for mine and spent probably another $500 rehabbing the thing (mine was in worse shape than that), maybe a bit more - I'd rather not think about the numbers. Here are photos of it...

What's the best beer you have brewed to date?

My "off-the-wall" hefewizen, hands down. *edit* why again is it off the wall? That hasn't been cleared up yet. kvh
