    Deal on conicals ?????

Incidentally, I e-mailed this eBay seller, asking if indeed he still had 77 of these left... He says he does, and will put another batch of them up for sale in January - Sucks, because I was looking to buy one now, but 2 months is worth the $300 in savings. I intend to fit my own rotating...

    Oxygen Regulator

Someone on here posted that they found an oxygen tank regulator at the hardware store for not much ($8 maybe?) - I've been searching the forum and can't find the listing... That still doesn't include the stone, or tube/cane assembly.... Maybe you already have those though. kvh.

    Vodka in airlock?

I use whiskey - cheap stuff of course - It started when we were brewing for a friend's party, and using his favorite whiskey to fill the airlock. We've downgraded to the cheap stuff now - The advantage in my mind is that it's easier to see at a distance. kvh

    Deal on conicals ?????

Most people I know who brew on cultivated yeasts swap them out after about 15 or 20 brews - there's no guarantee that a mutation hasn't started to change the yeast at that point. However, SOMETHING will survive over the course of 6 years, and even if it's different, it'll definitely brew -...

    Working in a brewery

This is almost exactly my situation right now, or rather, what I hope for it to be in 6 months. I'll be 27 by then, so maybe that's the only difference. I'm ready to leave my job, and will be next summer. I have nothing tying me down, and am dying to find a job in a brewery, somewhere small...

Need help designing a -COMPACT- AG system

I use my current immersion chiller with ice water already. I fill a spare fermentor bucket with 16lb of ice, then get it floating with cold tap water, than let gravity feed it through my IC in the brew kettle, into another bucket on the floor. I get it to 70, it just takes a while. kvh

Need help designing a -COMPACT- AG system

Sorry to dig up my old post, I've been thinking and have more questions now... The big concern from everyone seems to be cooling the wort. I have an immersion chiller which works fine, it takes a little while, especially since I didn't upgrade it when I switched to a pony-keggle. However I...

    Crazy Carboy Idea

I can fully agree with the Oxyclean technique, but the website of my Homebrew Club has a tip too: http://www.csibc.net/tips_techniques.htm Rice, Baking Soda, a little water, swish, and rinse... Haven't had to try it, but I think it would work fine.. kvh.

    Kreusen with a stir plate?

I finally assembled all the parts I need for a functioning stir plate (the plate, flasks, and stir bars). I'm itching to get back home after a long weekend out of town to breed up some WLP 566 Platinum Series for a winter Saison... I should probably find a recipe for it while I'm doing that...

    dual tap tower source?

Crazy. I swear I spent $130 on a 4 tap tower (similar to the ones on the wedding thread). That's with the full metal box thing on top, not just the tube. Maybe it was a lot more and I just REMEMBER spending $130... Incidentally, I have very used single-tap tower I'd part with for a song...

    Priming w/ wort

Beer Barons to the rescue (not affiliated, but I downloaded this a while back, and googled it again just now): http://www.beerbarons.org/publications/articles/brewDayCheatSheets/carbonationWort.pdf If my math is right, it looks like you've got 20 fl oz, which is just about where you want it...

    Yeast washing

I used yeast (actually, an ale yeast first used by me on an IPA, then washed and used on some apfelwein, then washed again and stored for 2 months in the fridge) for a second apfelwein batch. This last time I didn't bother making any starter, I just opened the bottle, sanitized the top of it...

    Yeast washing

You don't need all of it, and not all will actually come out - it's sticky stuff. There's plenty of yeast in there. Not too long - I think I did 3 separate rinses all inside of an hour. I've reused that yeast after 2 months in the fridge, and it was just fine. No, but the liquid will...

    dual tap tower source?

I bought mine from http://acumetalfab.com/. They're really nice, fabricate them all in house, and actually supply most of the major retailers, and sell to the public for about 1/2 to 1/5 the price. Call them for the cost. They don't sell taps, but you'd want some Shirrons anyway, right...

    Gas side kegerator questions

I can't help you with the push fitting, but I'd say you can probably do without it if you have to. I almost used a quick-release air hose with my set up, for ease in changing tanks, but in all honesty, I just remove the whole primary regulator when I need to take it out, leaving the regulator...
