    So who's brewing this weekend?

Another weekend another west coast-ish dipa ;)
  2. Chris-Naz

    Loral Hops (HBC 291)

I was wondering about this also. Any thoughts on noble hop combos with Loral? Does anyone think that Saaz and Loral would play nice?

    Nelson Sauvin hops anywhere?

They’re baaaaack!!! YVH has quite the stash this year and are capping how much one can buy to spread the love around. https://www.yakimavalleyhops.com/category_s/2082.htm

    Make IPA Clear Again

Don’t forget ~1/2tsp per glass each of oat flour and some bakers yeast to further approximate the flavor and da-murk!

    YVH BRU-1 experimental hop

What other hops might you blend with Bru-1?!

    So who's brewing this weekend?

In the double with Nelson, I used a 10ml hop shot and 1oz magnum for bittering. 2oz of Nelson in the whirlpool @ 170F and 2 x 3oz Nelson for dry hopping (likely day 5 and day 7). For the pale ale, all whole hop cashmere with 1oz for bittering and 7oz in the whirlpool at 170F. Cheers!

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Two batches on Saturday: west coast style dIPA with Nelson and a pale ale with cashmere.

    YVH BRU-1 experimental hop

The 2019 crop is currently available from YVH. Going to snag a 1/2lb and pop it into a west coast style dIPA. Will report back with results.

    Make IPA Clear Again

Accidental triple with no fermentation finings and dry hopped to the tune of 2.25lb/barrel with 1:1:1 simcoe/amarillo/centennial. You can see the tree house brewing logo through the hop haze... Pretty good looking IMO!

    Make IPA Clear Again

Zappa Amarillo Bravo IPA fermented with Hansen ale blend. Nice. How did you like the Zappa contribution and how much and at which points during your process did you add them? Cheers!

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Did a 1.065 homegrown IPA this weekend with Chinook from my parent’s house in VT, Magnum from my back yard (MA), MA Valley Malt (pale ale and crystal 40). Fermenting with US05.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

A crushable west coast dipa with simcoe, centennial, and amarillo. Went with a hop shot for bittering and just Simpson’s golden promise and cane sugar for fermentables. US05, brew day vitality shaken-only starter.

    NE IPA Dry Yeast

Pot stirred *evil cackle* Regardless, I’m fired up to try this and will have a pack on-hand to deal with “emergencies”. I also hear that with liquid versions it’s necessary to cycle a few generations to begin expressing the esters this strain is known for... but that hasn’t been my experience...

    NE IPA Dry Yeast

Looks like this is available in the good ol’ USA finally. A bit on the pricy side IMHO. https://shop.greatfermentations.com/product/lalbrew-premium-new-england-east-coast-american-ale-dry-yeast-11-gram/danstar-dry-yeast
  16. Chris-Naz

    So who's brewing this weekend?

A 5g smash-ish NEIPA with golden promise, light munich, WY1318, and a boat load of Vic Secret. Adding sugar each time I dry hop with this batch (4oz sugar & 4oz hops) twice.

    Make IPA Clear Again

Here’s one for you: Ferk the murk! Haha. I’m actually a fan of beer (all of it) as long as it’s well-made. I am missing the non-hazy ipas but find that some of the hazy ipas clear over time and sometimes that’s a good thing (depending on the brew). This thread cracks me up - thanks all.

    Make IPA Clear Again

Hey CascadesBrewer and Blazinlow - this is where my head goes when I see simcoe and Amarillo on a can. I haven’t had a NEIPA with that combo... Cheers
